El taller abarca los cinco caminos del Yoga y los nueve formas del Yoga así como los 8 pilares del Hatha Raja Yoga de Patanjali. Las prácticas serán diario durante los 14 días, variando los temas y contenido. Incluyen: Pranayamas, Kriyas, Asanas, Relajación Profunda, Meditación, Filosofía del Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Mantras, Yoga Nidra y Psychic Development. Todas las clases se quedarán grabadas con excepción de la clase de Psychic Development. En este taller aprenderás a formar una práctica y rutina diaria basada en las secuencias y posturas más importantes de Dharma Yoga. Los antiguos E grabados de figuras humanas en piedras realizando "asanas" confirman la relación directa del desarrollo del yoga moderno y sus raíces históricas. La palabra Yoga en sánscrito proviene de la raíz "Yug" que significa literalmente "to yoke". Quien practica yoga, busca dejarse "guiar" por sí mismo hacia Dios en esta vida. La filosofía Yogi se registró en las escrituras "Vedas", pero la técnica se desarrolló y reveló a los "Maharishis" o grandes maestros a través de los siglos en estados profundos de meditación. "El yoga es el camino de la purificación de la personalidad y la conducta (la limpieza de nuestra naturaleza física y mental) de donde el más alto estado de la realidad y verdad debieran brillar con amplia luz en la mente y los corazones de todos los seres vivos". La naturaleza de los seres vivos es encontrar felicidad y tranquilidad y encontrar sentido y propósito de la vida. El Yoga es una disciplina, una técnica y una filosofía que provee revelaciones y guía para quien busca dicho camino. El yoga es el arte y la ciencia del cuidado propio, auto-superación y Auto-Conocimiento. No es una religión, más que eso, es un método practico diseñado y desarrollado con el propósito de llevar a los seres humanos a sus más altos niveles de salud física, claridad mental y conciencia espiritual. El yoga es la ciencia de la religión, y en la práctica, es una ciencia aplicada del cuerpo y la mente. El estudio y la práctica del Yoga ayuda a encontrar el equilibrio del cuerpo y la mente por el cual un estado natural de salud se puede empezar a manifestar. El Yoga, primero afecta e influencia la mente, que es donde el verdadero estado de salud es creado, ya que a partir de las decisiones que tomamos con nuestra mente afectan fuerte y directamente la salud de nuestro cuerpo físico. La práctica propicia un ambiente interno que permite al individuo llegar a un estado de salud óptimo y dinámico. En Yoga, una persona saludable es una unidad armónicamente integrada por mente, cuerpo y espíritu. Una salud óptima requiere de una dieta simple y natural, ejercicio adecuado, aire fresco, una mente serena y libre de conflictos, y la claridad de saber que la versión más profunda y elevada de nuestro Ser es idéntica al espíritu de la naturaleza verdadera de Dios. Por consiguiente, el Yoga desarrolla guía y conocimientos profundos en cada aspecto de la vida -el mental, el físico y el espiritual- y con su metodología busca la armoniosa unificación de dichos aspectos del Ser. Dharma Yoga es un estilo de práctica de Yoga muy sutil y armonioso, que al mismo tiempo representa un reto para quien lo practica con devoción, basado en casi 50 años de estudios y enseñanzas del Yoga clásico de India del maestro Sri Dharma Mittra… En esencia, Dharma Yoga es un sistema del clásico Hatha-Raja Yoga. Una práctica con sentido de devoción que se enfatiza en la buena salud, la mente objetiva y clara y un corazón compasivo Dharma Yoga, incluye estudios y enseñanzas de los 8 pilares del Yoga Ashtanga, que incluyen, Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana y Samadhi así como el dominio de las nueve formas del yoga, incluyendo Raja, Kundalini, Bhakti, Mantra, Tantra, Yantra, Jnana, Karma y Hatha Yoga “La mente no es pura todavía, pero el néctar que habita dentro lo es y es perfecto. Para alcanzarlo, procura los Yamas para fortalecer tu entusiasmo. Se amable con todos los seres vivos y así tu mente lo tomará en serio!” ~Sri Dharma Mittra Recomendaciones y Observaciones Generales L as siguientes recomendaciones son simples hábitos Yoguicos que pueden ayudarte a disfrutar más tu taller pero claramente no es indispensable ni obligatorio. 1. Encuentra un espacio en tu hogar donde puedas “instalarte” para tu taller y prácticas. Tenlo listo desde unos días antes. Puedes colocar incienso o velas y algunas imágenes importantes para ti. 2. Con anticipación revisa tu conexión a internet y recuerda dejar cargada la batería de tus electrónicos a utilizar. 3. Utiliza ropa cómoda para tus prácticas 4. Ten listo tu tapete, cobijas y todo lo que necesites en el mismo lugar durante las dos semanas del taller. 5. Te recomendamos no tomar alimentos previo a las prácticas, con excepción de las prácticas de filosofía del yoga y los “check-ins”. El único líquido que recomendamos es agua caliente con limón al despertar 6. Si puedes comer comida “satvica” te ayudará en el proceso de purificación de tu cuerpo 7. Te recomendamos hacer dos comidas al día y si acaso snacks de frutas o semillas ligeras, tomar agua. 8. Trata de descansar lo más posible. 9. Conéctate 5 minutos antes de tus prácticas y ten todo listo para comenzar a tiempo. 10. Revisa que tu micrófono esté en silencio. 11. Durante el taller te pediremos que escribas un diario acerca de los Yamas y Niyamas. No es una descripción sino un ensayo personal de cada día observando uno de los principios éticos en tu vida diaria. 12. Si quieres imprimir el documento te será de mucha ayuda, pero si no lo necesitas cuidamos al planeta. 13. Durante tus prácticas deja tu celular en silencio y no es necesario tomar ni comer nada. “Los Yamas te ayudan a concentrarte y te vuelves más dedicado en tu práctica. Así es más fácil alcanzar tus metas y los beneficios de la práctica llegan más fácilmente ” ~Sri Dharma Mittra Los Principios Éticos del Yoga: Yamas y Niyamas D harma Yoga enfatiza en el primer Yama: Dharma cree en la aceptación de tu cuerpo. El fundamento de Dharma Yoga es Ahimsa (no violencia). Mucha gente piensa que Ahimsa tiene que ver con el mundo exterior, sin embargo, Ahimsa se tiene que cultivar primero en nosotros mismos, es decir, desde asegurarnos que estamos satisfaciendo nuestras necesidades y que nos encontramos fuertes, hasta encontrar nuestra propia voz y ser capaces de expresarnos. Ahimsa también significa tratar bien nuestro cuerpo, con amor, respeto y compasión e inclusive simpatía si un día no nos sentimos bien. El primer paso es no tener pensamientos violentos y en este sentido cambiar la forma en que pensamos. Dharma dice que ésta es la forma en que podemos comenzar a vernos en todas las cosas en todos los demás y cuando esto ocurre, no puedes lastimar a nada ni a nadie.

Are you concerned over this trend? Can people achieve Self-realization just through Asana practice? Dharma Mittra: Asanas are an aid to facilitate the journey to Self-realization within the yoga system. The postures are designed to induce a specific state of consciousness according to their geometric shape. In actual practice, certain Asanas are combined with Mudras, Bandhas, Pranayama, visualizations and intense attention on some of the Chakras or glands, etc., thus enhancing mental abilities (concentration). But, Asanas are unable to destroy the subtle impurities of the mind that only keeping Yama (the Ethical Laws) and Niyama (the Yogic Observances) can. Yama and Niyama are the first and second steps of Ashtanga or Classical Eight-limbed Yoga and, without keeping them, there can be no Self- realization or true success in yoga. Based on what I’ve observed teaching for almost 50 years now, I would guess that only 1 out of 10 yoga students are really seeking Self-realization. The others are busy and very active with the Asanas just for the sake of improving their health, physique, mental powers and, up to some degree, their self-control also. All of this activity is engaged in for one purpose: so that they can better cope with their personal stuff so as to reduce their overall pain and suffering.

    Overview of davannayoga® Vinyasa Training davannayoga’s® training focuses on teaching the Vinyasa style to all levels of yoga practitioners. Our purpose is to uphold and maintain the highest standard of safety and instruction for all yoga teachers. A Typical Day at davannayoga Teacher Training: 7:20am: Opening Mantras, pranayama practice, questions from homework and walking meditations. Morning: Asana practice and teaching asanas/adjusting/anatomy work or co-create and practice giving a class with your peers. Mornings may contain 1-2 practices in the form of classes that you give or classes that the course leader gives. Lunch break - time depends on length of day. Afternoon: Free from 4-6 or 7 Most Evenings (3-4 nights per week) we are together from 6:30-9 or 7-9pm: More asana practice, pranayama practice, movies meditation practice or Kirtan depending on your course work progress. Friday evenings there is a Kirtan Mantra Meditation class that we partake in. Saturdays we get out a bit early on most Saturdays. One Saturday during the Restorative Module we will be here until 4pm.

    Ashtanga Immersion Teacher Training Yoga Club Teacher Training Manual Ashtanga Yoga Immersion ~ Ashtanga Yoga Ashtanga Yoga versus Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga There is a distinction between “Ashtanga Yoga” (the eight limb path as defined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras) and “Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga” (the asana system defined in the modern day by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, handed down from Sri T. Krishnamacharya). The “history” of ashtanga yoga, the eight limb path is thousands and thousands of years old. Patanjali codefied this system in the Yoga Sutras and Vyasa helped us interpret Patanjali’s writings with his commentaries that are now considered a part of the yoga sutras. The ashtanga vinyasa yoga system has undergone many changes and modifications across generations. The teachings were traditionally handed down from guru to disciple and made to fit the needs of the student. BKS Iyengar and Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois and Indra Devi all received direct instruction from Sri. T. Krishnamacharya, but because of their individuals needs as students, the systems they teach appear different. They each teach as they were taught. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Overview The Primary series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is known as “Yoga Chikitsa” or “Yoga Therapy”. Is it a healing sequence of poses known for their cleansing and toning of the Kanda of the body, the lower back, sacrum, hips, waist and solar plexus area. The sequence of poses is always the same, with most postures held for 5 or more breaths. Vinyasas between postures are used to maintain heat in the body, build strength in the practitioner and to clear the nervous system of the previous posture, preparing for the next posture in the sequence.
