Shacharis the Rebbe's Minyan Thanks and Blessings to the Chassidic philanthropist who is always supportive of the shluchim and helps them generously, R' Sholom Ber Drizin May Hashem grant him length of days and good years, and may he, in good health, merit to see the hisgalus of the Rebbe MH"M, immediately. On behalf of thousands of shluchim. Preface Dear Shliach of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach, As we begin the International Conference of Shluchim 5779 we proudly present you with the program for this year's Kinus. We welcome the Rebbe's emissaries, the Shluchim who came from far and near, from all corners of the world, to sit down together and share ideas on expanding and optimizing the Shlichus, preparing the world for the coming of Moshiach and giving Nachas to the Meshaleiach, the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach. Throughout the days of the Kinus, Farbrengens and sessions will take place to inspire the Shluchim to fulfill their sole Shlichus. The days of the Kinus will include sessions and lectures in a variety of topics, to help the Shluchim in all areas, focusing specifically on the challenges every Shliach faces on Shlichus. Sessions range from Chinuch and Teen | תוכניה • כינוס השלוחים העולמי תשע"ט PROGRAM • INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF SHLUCHIM 5779 | 2 programming to Halacha and Psychology, all filled with the message of redemption. Discussions and Farbrengens will take place with veteran Shluchim and Mashpiim, who will share their Shlichus stories and inspire the crowd to continue the Shlichus in the face of all challenges. The theme of the Kinus this year is, “Explaining the Topic of Moshiach.” This is based on what the Rebbe MH”M said at the Kinus HaShluchim 5752, “The meaning here is simply - that good resolutions ought to result from the Kinus HaShluchim about how every Shliach needs to prepare himself and prepare all Jews in his place and his city etc, to welcome Moshiach, by explaining the topic of Moshiach as it is explained in the Written and Oral Torah, in a way that can be accepted by each person according to his intellect and understanding.” We hope that the Kinus will help each and every one of the Shluchim, and help us complete the job, and bring the complete revelation of the Rebbe Melech Hamoshiach. Va'ad Kinus Hashluchim Merkos L'inyonei Chinuch 3 | תוכניה • כינוס השלוחים העולמי תשע"ט The Gateway to Shlichus Today's farbrengen is being held at the beginning of the International Conference of Shluchim. It must be emphasized that the task of the shluchim in the present age, and particular at this time, is to prepare for the acceptance of Moshiach and the advent of the ultimate Redemption. This is the task facing every Jew, for we are all shluchim of G-d as obvious from the Mishnah's statement, "I was created solely to serve my Creator." In particular, however, this concept is relevant to those individuals who have merited to serve as the shluchim of the Previous Rebbe and dedicate their entire existence to this mission. To explain: Although as a whole, our shlichus is constant and unchanging, from time to time, a different dimension of the shlichus receives emphasis. At that time, that dimension permeates the entire shlichus and defines its character, serving as the gateway through which the entire shlichus ascends. Surely, this applies in the present instance, when the emphasis is on such an essential and all-encompassing point, preparing for Moshiach's coming. As mentioned repeatedly in the past, we are not speaking about a matter of the distant future, but rather a present and immediate concern. Our Sages declared that "all the appointed times for Moshiach's coming have passed." We have completed all the service required of us, even -- to borrow an expression from the Previous Rebbe -- "having polished the buttons." Thus in principle we are prepared to receive Moshiach, and the shlichus of our generation centers on preparing us to receive Moshiach in practice! ...And this is the task of the International Conference of Shluchim: First and foremost, to make a public statement that this is the task confronting us -- to prepare ourselves to accept Moshiach. Every aspect of our service and every dimension of our activity must be directed to this goal. The World of Lubavitch A publication of Chabad-Lubavitch, Toronto Vol. 42 No. 2 (146) TISHREI 5777 SEPTEMBER 2016 We Used to Call it a Mitzvah By Baila Olidort - New York There is no remembrance of former things . And I hated all my labor wherein I labored under the sun, seeing that I must leave it unto the man that shall be after me. And who knows whether he will be a wise man or a fool? Ecclesiastes 2:18 The other day I heard someone say Chabad was “a humanitari- an Jewish organization.” I cringed. She had just come from an event promoting a “groundswell of transformative social good.” One of the stage props was a larger-than-life photo of the Rebbe. The Rebbe was being honored on a platform of social goodness. Many know his emissaries as the rabbis who run “relief centers” around the world. Who hasn’t seen photos of them wading through floodwaters, throwing out lifelines and handing out water bottles when tornadoes and tsunamis strike. Why carp? It’s true that among everything else they do, the Rebbe’s shluchim do these things too. The preponderance of goodness and kindness that Chabad has generated around the world cannot be gainsaid. It’s made Chabad a household name, and its representa- tives the go-to people for anyone who needs help anywhere in the world. Maybe it rankles because those of us who experienced the Reb- be in his lifetime feel protective of his vision, and to think Chabad a humanitarian organization seems a misunderstanding of his legacy.

Chabad is today one of the world's best known Hasidic movements and is well known for its outreach. Organizationally, it is the largest Jewish religious organization in the world.[2][3] ,Wisdom" :( המכח , הניב , תעד ) is a Hebrew acronym for Chochmah, Binah, Da'at ( בח "ד :Founded in 1755 by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, the name "Chabad" (Hebrew Understanding, and Knowledge" which represent the intellectual underpinnings of the movement.[4][5] The name "Lubavitch" is the Yiddish name for the originally Belorussian village Lyubavichi where the movement's leaders lived for over 100 years. The Chabad movement represents an intellectual-mystical school of thought established and led by a dynasty of Hasidic rebbes. The movement was based in Lyubavichi (Lubavitch) for over a century, then briefly centered in the cities of Rostov-on-Don, Riga, and Warsaw. From 1940[6] until the present day, the movement's center has been in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.[7][8] In 1950, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson became the seventh and last Rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch, and transformed it from a small hasidic movement, into the largest Jewish movement in the world today. He established a network of more than 3,600 institutions that provide religious, social and humanitarian needs in over 1,000 cities, spanning 80 countries and 49 of the 50 American states.[9][10][11][12][13][14] Chabad institutions provide outreach to unaffiliated Jews, and humanitarian aid, as well as religious, cultural and educational activities at Chabad run community centers, synagogues, schools, camps, and soup kitchens.

Throughout the years, the Rebbe encouraged the celebration of Simchas Beis Hashoeiva on Sukkos in vast measures. In the earlier years, the Rebbe himself conducted the farbrengens, delivering lengthy sichos and singing joyous niggunim with the crowd. Things took a major turn in 5741, when the Rebbe initiated the custom of delivering a sicha on each night of Sukkos. In these talks, the Rebbe expounded upon the theme of the Ushpizin of the day, and also encouraged everyone to celebrate the Simcha with joy and dancing in the streets! The following excerpt presented is from a sicha on Shabbos Parshas Ha’azinu - 13 Tishrei 5752, in which the Rebbe speaks in preparation for the upcoming Yom Tov of Sukkos, focusing on the great joy contained within these festive days. The Rebbe explains how this happiness also relates to our imminent welcoming of Moshiach Tzidkeinu, and stresses that we should not keep our happiness to ourselves, but rather share it with every Jew that we possibly can.
