Project Background The Laguindingan Airport located in the Northern Mindanao Region is Principal Class I airport and is currently being operated by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) It was commissioned in 2013, replacing the Lumbia Airport. It is the major airport serving the Northern Mindanao region. General Information on the airport Distance/direction from city center : 45 km from Cagayan de Oro Airport class : Principal Class 1 Airport Airport land area, with boundaries : 354 Hectares Operational restrictions, if any : Currently operating under VFR; night landing facilities expected to be made available by second half of 2014 Existing Facilities of the airport The airport comprises modern facilities including the infrastructure /facilities as provided below:

Currently, the airport only handles domestic traffic, and is connected by most of the major airlines operating in the Philippines, including Cebu Pacific, Philippines Airlines, and AirAsia Zest. The domestic traffic has grown by a CAGR of 16.4% approx. between 2008 and 2012.
