PERU TUSAN KETUA PENGARAH MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR GENERAL ahun 2014 menyaksikan JMG sekali lagi melaksanakan kesemua tanggungjawab yang diberikan dengan cemerlang. Kejayaan jabatan jelas seperti yang dicerminkan oleh pencapaian Petunjuk Prestasi Utama (KPI), terutamanya bagi Tsektor mineral dan geosains yang diterajui oleh jabatan. Saya ingin mengambil peluang ini untuk merakamkan terima kasih kepada Kementerian Sumber Asli dan Alam Sekitar (NRE) atas sokongan dan kepercayaan yang diberikan kepada JMG. Saya juga ingin menyampaikan setinggi-tinggi penghargaan kepada semua staf JMG di atas komitmen dan sumbangan mereka, serta agensi kerajaan yang lain, institusi pengajian tinggi awam, dan sektor swasta di atas kerjasama rapat dan sokongan yang telah diberikan. he year 2014 saw JMG once again discharging all its responsibilities commendably. Constructed questionnaires were distributed to visitors in Tasik Kenyir who were selected using the convenience sampling method which is a non-probability sampling technique. The data collection method used in this study was the face-to-face interview. Descriptive analysis was used to describe the socio-demographic profiles of the respondents in this study, while factor analysis was used to develop the scale for the visitors’ perception on natural resource conservation. Results obtained in this study indicate that 24 variables have significant contribution in determining the perception on the indicators of natural resource conservation and are distributed into nine factors. These findings can be used undertaking the conservation of natural resource for the development of ecotourism. Background of ProBE 2014 The Provider-Based Evaluation (ProBE), continuation of the formerly known Malaysia Government Portals and Websites Assessment (MGPWA), has been concluded for the assessment year of 2014. As mandated by the Government of Malaysia via the Flagship Coordination Committee (FCC) Meeting chaired by the Secretary General of Malaysia, MDeC hereby announces the result of ProBE 2014. Effective Date and Implementation The assessment year for ProBE 2014 has commenced on the 1 st of July 2014 following the announcement of the criteria and its methodology to all agencies. A total of 1086 Government websites from twenty four Ministries and thirteen states were identified for assessment. Methodology In line with the continuous and heightened effort from the Government to enhance delivery of services to the citizens, significant advancements were introduced to the criteria and methodology of assessment for ProBE 2014 exercise. The year 2014 spearheaded the introduction and implementation of self-assessment methodology where all agencies were required to assess their own websites based on the prescribed ProBE criteria.
