Aside from the occasional hand-transfer option that has discontinued history, a few slogans get us more riled up than will not be sold in the United States. We are all too familiar with this phrase as foreign automakers refuse to sell us sporty compact hot hatchbacks, powerful diesel engines, manual transmissions, and high performance wagons over and over again. It makes some sense - the US is an expensive market to enter because of our confusing safety and emissions standards that don't match the rest of the world, although the blow doesn't get the newest diesel wagon monster never seems to soften. Even the new 300-horsepower T-Roc R crossover, which seems perfect for the crazy U.S. crossover market, won't be sold in the US. Then there are cars like Up GTI, Amarok, Golf GTD, and Golf GTI Clubsport S, none of which are offered in the US. What about Arteon, which was supposed to come to the U.S. but is constantly delayed?
