/7 POSITIVE VOICE invites you to attend the 6th Annual DAY OF SELF DISCOVERY, a Conference on GLBT Issues. It will be held on Saturday, March 6th, from 9:00am to 3:45pm at Liberty Hall, BOO Eisenhower Dr. in Kimberly, Wl.

Speakers and entertainers will include the following:

Dave Kopay As a former Green Bay Packer and author of the Dave Kopay Story, Kopay is the first professional football player to openly acknowledge that he was gay. He has been a strong voice for tolerance and acceptance, appearing in countless magazine and news stories. Dave has publicly criticized, through national media, Peggie White's unconscionable statements on gays.

Miriam Ben-Shalom Miriam spent 13 years in court battles fighting her discharge from military service in 1975 for being a openly homosexual. In 1988, a Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the military could not ban her from service because she was a lesbian. She is revered as a pioneer in the struggle for equality for GLBT's and has received many awards. An author, leader, Iobbyist and Milwaukee teacher, Mirjam will share her experiences of how she spoke out for gay rights in a time when few others were willing to do so.

Scott Fearing Scott is the statewide organizer for OutFront Minnesota. Previously, Fearing was Coordinator of Education and Training for The Gay and Lesbian Community Action Council and has worked as a private consultant to both the public and private sectors. Yearly he provides GLBT education to thousands across the country in a variety of settings including schools, businesses, conferences and public forums. Fearing will be giving an interactive presentation on internal/external homo- phobia. His appearance is sponsored by Action Wisconsin and Equality Begins at Home.

Entertainers Against AIDS Entertainers Kitty Plosman and Jeff Jennings will be performing for the Conference. Jeff and Kitty are two members of the Entertainers Against AIDS (EAA) group. Both Jeff and Kitty have been popular entertainers in the Northeast Wisconsin area for a number of years.
