 Mary Campbell Cave in Gorge Metro Park is named for Mary Campbell, a woman taken by Lenape, a Native American tribe also known as the Delaware Tribe in 1759 and then adopted by Chief Netawatwees, whose village was located near present day Cuyahoga Falls. She was liberated in 1764 by Colonel Henry Bouquet following the French and Indian War.  The Cuyahoga River name means crooked river. The 100-mile Cuyahoga River flows both south and north before emptying into Lake Erie at Cleveland, Ohio, a scant 30 miles west of its headwaters.  Cuyahoga Falls offer class 5 rapids for kayaking on the Cuyahoga River.  2012 Bicentennial Time Capsule is buried between City Hall and the Natatorium.  Our Clock Tower was built in the Bill Brothers Machine Works on Water Street of Cuyahoga Falls in 1864. The Brothers had been tower clock builders in Connecticut before moving to Ohio. The clock was installed by Israel James in the Methodist Episcopal Society of Cuyahoga Falls Church. In 1970, the clock was once again removed and put into storage when it was replaced by an electric clock. In 1994, the clock was brought out of storage and refurbished. It was then installed in this new tower and was once again marking the passage of time by late 1995.  Honorary Boulevard located at Broad Blvd and 3rd Street – The Mayor names citizens who exemplifies community volunteerism.  7 Craft Beer/Breweries located in Cuyahoga Falls.  Former President George W. Alside  Front Street Re-Opened to vehicular traffic in 2018 after being Americhem closed for 40 years. A boost in our downtown business economy.
