Owings * * * * * * * * * Submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for Honors in the Department of Environmental Studies UNION COLLEGE June, 2008 ABSTRACT The majority of the NYC water supply is provided by a system of dams and reservoirs that have been created in upstate New York. This responsibility includes upholding dam regulations in order to ensure the safety of the citizens of the surrounding area and to lesson any environmental impacts that may occur due to the water supply system.
