Dear Mr. Editor: Several members of the Republican Party have approached me and inquired as to why my immeqi.ate supe'i.,isor, Mr. Glenn David Price, assistant attorney general, chief criminill div1sion, dismissed Commonwealth vs. Manases S. Borja. After giving them some of the major reasons, these persons still had the notion that this case was dismissed because of political pressure from the governor's office. Let it be known throughout the Commonwealth that Borja's case was not dis missed because of political ·consideration, but rather through careful analysis of the office of the attorney general for the Commonwealth is governed by ethical considerations and there is no room for political games. In fact, I am happy to say that Mr. Price is the best prosecutor that we have had; and thus far I have not seen decisions being made by him that are based on personal reasons. No person in the Commonwealth, including the governor, any legislator or judge, can tell us what cases to prosecute or not to prosecu~e. If the evidence is intact and if public policy so requires - we will not hesitate to prosecute any person in the Commonwealth, including prominent political figures.
