SHINJI with the Track Being One of the Fastest Circuits Motogp Q1 14:10 - 14:25 of the Season Make This Circuit Very Demanding Motogp Q2 14:35 - 14:50 for Tyres MALAYSIA www.bridgestonemotorsport.com SEPANG 17 25 OCTOBER SULTRY SEPANG IS A SEVERE TEST FOR TYRES The penultimate round of the 2015 MotoGP™ season takes place at Sepang International Circuit, a circuit defined by its high ambient temperatures, humidity and a fast, technical layout. SEPANG FEATURES TWO LONG STRAIGHTS THAT END IN Measuring approximately 5.5 kilometres in length, Sepang features a wide variety of EXTREME BRAKING ZONES WHICH corner types - both low and high speed - with its main feature being two long straights DEMAND HIGH LEVELS OF that end in extreme braking zones that demand high levels of stability from the front 04 STABILITY FROM THE tyre. The technical layout generates significant forces and loads on tyres and overall the FRONT TYRE Sepang circuit is one of the more demanding in terms of tyre development. 03 Two of the rear slick options for the Malaysian Grand Prix – the soft and hard options – S1 06 are symmetric in specification, while the medium rear slick is asymmetric with slightly 05 harder rubber on the right shoulder compared to the left. The rear tyre options for the 02 Factory Honda and Yamaha riders are the medium and hard compound slicks, while the S2 01 Aprilia, Ducati, Suzuki and Open-class riders have the soft and medium compound rear S slicks available. Owing to its severe braking zones and high ambient temperatures, 15 07 the front tyre allocation for Sepang comprises the two hardest front slick tyres in 14 Bridgestone’s range; the medium and hard compound front slicks. 09 08 12 Heavy downpours of rain are not uncommon at Sepang, particularly in the afternoon and 13 10 as ambient and track temperatures are quite warm at this venue the main wet tyre for S3 the Malaysian Grand Prix is the hard compound. The alternative, soft compound wet tyre will also be made available to riders. 11 GRAND PRIX INFORMATION 01 : CORNER NUMBER SCHEDULE TYRE ALLOCATION SEPANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT, MALAYSIA S : SPEED TRAP SHOWING CIRCUIT LOCAL TIME (GMT +8) ROUND 17 - SHELL MALAYSIA MOTORCYCLE GRAND PRIX S1 : SECTORS RECORDS CIRCUIT FRIDAY 23 OCTOBER FRONT SLICKS Best Lap 1m 59.791s (166.5Km/h) First race 1999 Moto3 FP1 09:00 - 09:40 Marc Marquez (Honda, 2014) No. of GPs held 15 MotoGP FP1 09:55 - 10:40 Race record lap 2m 01.150s (164.7Km/h) Laps 20 (MotoGP) 19 (Moto2) 18 (Moto3) Moto2 FP1 10:55 - 11:40 Marc Marquez (Honda, 2014) Track length 5.5km / 3.44 miles (Width 22m) Moto3 FP2 13:10 - 13:50 Race time 40m 45.191s (163.3Km/h) Race distance 110.9km / 68.8 miles (20 Laps) MotoGP FP2 14:05 - 14:50 Medium Hard Dani Pedrosa (Honda, 2013) Longest straight 920m / 3018.37 ft Moto2 FP2 15:05 - 15:50 2014 Winner Marc Marquez (Honda) Corners 15 (5 left / 10 right) REAR SLICKS - OPEN SATURDAY 24 OCTOBER Moto3 FP3 09:00 - 09:40 TYRE TALK WITH The Sepang circuit has a varied layout with MotoGP FP3 09:55 - 10:40 its main features being its two long straights Moto2 FP3 10:55 - 11:40 Soft Medium and high track temperatures, which often rise Moto3 QP 12:35 - 13:15 above 50 degrees Celsius. October 6, 2019 Marc Marquez Wins 4th Consecutive, 6th Overall FIM MotoGP Championship Title October 6, 2019 – Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team RC213V) has become the 2019 FIM*1 MotoGP World Champion at Round 15, the Thailand Grand Prix (held on October 6 at Chang International Circuit in Buriram). This is Marquez’s fourth consecutive premier class title and sixth time he has taken the MotoGP Championship in his career. Riding Honda’s RC213V factory bike, Marquez had a solid start to his fourth consecutive title this season, finishing second in the opening round and winning Round 2. Marquez secured the championship title once again with four of the 19 rounds remaining. Marquez became the youngest MotoGP champion after winning his first championship in his debut year in 2013, when he joined Honda’s HRC factory team Repsol Honda Team. The following year he won the first ten rounds and became champion once again with a total of 13 wins. Although he missed out on yet another championship title in 2015, he had his revenge in 2016, clinching his third title. In his MotoGP career to date*2, Marquez has been on pole position a record-setting 61 times, and has won 53 Grands Prix (4th in the history of MotoGP). *1 FIM: Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme *2 As of the end of Round 15, Thailand Marc Marquez “It is a great feeling to be World Champion with Honda again.

  • Yamaha Factory Racing Write History with Incredible Suzuka 8 Hours Victory
Yamaha Factory Racing Write History with Incredible Suzuka 8 Hours Victory July 29, 2018 ― Rising above what has been one of the most challenging “Coca-Cola” Suzuka 8 Hours weeks of recent years, the Yamaha Factory Racing Team delivered a heroic effort today to secure an incredible fourth consecutive victory in the iconic Endurance World Championship (EWC) finale. Fellow Yamaha competitors GMT94 Yamaha Official EWC Team came tantalisingly close to securing the 2017-2018 EWC title, missing out by the narrowest of margins to take 2nd on the podium. The YART Yamaha Official EWC Team had a less fortunate Suzuka 8 Hours experience, forced to retire before the halfway point. As race day dawned this morning, Yamaha Factory Racing Team riders Alex Lowes and Michael van der Mark prepared for the 2018 Suzuka 8 Hours with a huge challenge in front of them. Following a big crash in practice, it was decided that key team member and local hero Katsuyuki Nakasuga would not ride in the race as a shoulder injury prevented him from riding at 100% fitness. Undaunted by the setback, van der Mark took control for the Le Mans start and opening stint, a major challenge itself with rapidly changing weather bringing full wet conditions just seconds before the lights went off. Remaining calm, the Dutchman didn't put a foot wrong, working his way up from 5th to take his position as a race lead contender before handing the #21 YZF-R1 over to teammate Lowes. The Brit picked up where van der Mark left off and was leading the race two hours in.
