Thanks to bostonbru for sharing the show at Dime. bostonbru noted: Pre-FM vinyl two-record set that I bought in a used record store, for US$5, the DJ cue sheet was missing. Each disc was treated with Pfan-Stat No. SA-14, and the Discwasher Zerostat Positive Ion Gun prior to play. They where played on a Sony PS-LX300H turntable to a Sony RCD-W500C CD Recorder using the Super Bit Mapping function. The resulting CD-R was ripped with Exact Audio Copy. The waves were imported to Goldwave V.5.04 for pop/click fix, track seperaton, and fade in out as needed. I only used one passive run of Goldwaves pop/click fix, since agressive noise reduction can impare sound quality. The waves were then converted to flac level 8 with Traders Little Helper aligning all sector boundaries. I removed all the commercials. I faded in on the intro voice over, and faded out on the end credits due to skips in the record. A great show with all the live favorites and a cover of The Spencer Davis Groups’ Gimme Some Lovin’ which Chicago have never recorded. There are a few vinyl pops but not enough to take away from your listening pleasure, so enjoy! First Dance, F/D Dance, etc) FOUR WEEKS prior to your event so that we can confirm the band will be able to perform the song(s) and so that we have time to locate sheet music and audio of the song(s). In some cases where sheet music is not available or an arrangement for the full band is needed, this gives us time to properly prepare the music. Clients are not obligated to submit a list of general song requests. Many of our clients ask that the band just react to whatever their guests are responding to on the dance floor. Our clients that do provide us with song requests do so in varying degrees. Most clients give us a handful of songs they want played and/or avoided. If you desire the highest degree of control (asking the band to only play within the margin of songs requested), we would ask for a minimum 80 requests from the band’s songlist. The Roots Report: E-nnoying!: Those highway signs should hit the road Okee dokee folks… Have you noticed the illuminated message signs along our major highways and the annoyingly punny sayings on them? Personally, I think that these signs should be used for one thing only: emergencies. Instead, they visually shout stupidity at you as you pass. They are such a turn-off because they never seem to be turned off so I TRY to ignore them, which is exactly the opposite of what they are there for. Last month, with St. Paddy’s approaching, they constantly flashed out messages like, “Make your own luck, drive sober” and “You’re someone’s pot of gold, drive sober.” Yes, I agree, drive sober, but a driver has to take their eyes off the road to read the message. If you don’t know enough to drive sober, I seriously doubt that this electronic conscience is going to influence your imbibing, especially with puerile quips such as these. Other examples read: “Use yah blinkah,” “That seat belt looks good on you” and “Santa sees you when you’re speeding.” Maybe the sign people just aren’t getting enough emergencies to light write about. Maybe they should become songwriters and hit the open mics; they might be less annoying this way. Am I alone? Read on… Ding, Da-Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding… Does that sound familiar? Ha! Well, it’s the plucking banjo intro of the instrumental “Dueling Banjos” from the motion picture, Deliverance. The film was about four friends taking an ill-fated canoe trip through northern Georgia and starred Burt Reynolds, Jon Voight, Ned Beatty and Ronny Cox.
