Toutes les réactions et commentaires sont les bienvenus… Couleur oblige, la priorité a été donnée aux images du concours 2010. Un concours qui aura déjoué toutes les recettes que l’on croyait acquises. Alors que tous les vainqueurs des années 2000 avaient des prestations réglée au millimètre, la jeune et fraîche Lena semblait totalement naturelle sur la scène de la Telenor Arena. Alors que le retour des jurys et les résultats des récentes éditions nous laissaient penser que les ballades allaient de nouveaux êtres les reines du concours, le top 5 n’est composé que de titres up-tempo. La mise en scène du concours 1961 et ses acteurs peuvent apparaître comme une réplique de ce que la R.T.F. avait produit en 1959 : même salle, même film d’introduction, même orchestre, même présentateur et même réalisateur. Mais la France est en ce 18 Mars le premier pays à organiser pour la deuxième fois le concours Eurovision de la chanson. La scène a toutefois un aspect nouveau, les carrousels de 1959 ayant cédé la place à un escalier central entouré d’une terrasse. Après la présentation des chanteurs, Jacqueline Joubert souhaite le bonjour aux téléspectateurs dans leurs propres langues et n’utilisera plus que le français, à l’exception de quelques mots d’anglais pour les jurys qui lui donneront les votes dans cette langue. Nouveau record concernant le nombre de participants, ce sont 16 pays qui convoitent le titre, la Yougoslavie, l’Espagne et la Finlande se joignant aux pays déjà présents en 1960. La Belgique fait à nouveau confiance à son interprète de 1959, Bob Benny, tout comme en 1956, 1958 et 1960 ils avaient choisi Fud Leclerc. Le bilinguisme de ce pays ne semble pas lui avoir posé trop de problème puisque dès 1957 leurs chansons seront les années paires en Français, les années impaires en Flamand et ce jusqu’à ce qu’un système de relégation ne vienne gripper cette mécanique bien huilée, sans toutefois remettre en cause l’alternance.

    Telenor blir hovedsponsor for Eurovision Song Contest 2010 (Fornebu, 11. september 2009) Den europeiske kringkastingsunion (EBU) kunngjorde i dag at Telenor blir hovedsponsor for Eurovision Song Contest 2010 i Telenor Arena. De tre arrangementene vil bli sendt direkte og leveres av NRK, og omfatter semifinaler den 25. og 27. mai og selve finalen den 29. mai 2010. Telenor får omfattende kommersielle rettigheter i forbindelse med arrangementene. SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE The Abbotsford Centre 2017 Annual Report provides Council with an overview of the success of the operation including a highlight of the activities, trends and financial performance of the facility. BACKGROUND Spectra Venue Management (Spectra) has operated the Abbotsford Centre - a multi-use community, entertainment, cultural and sports facility on behalf of the City of Abbotsford since 2008. In 2014, the City of Abbotsford and Spectra Venue Management agreed to a new five year management and operating agreement, which included the “New Game Vision” (New Game), with enhanced community access; streamlined operating agreements; and revenue positive special events and anchor tenants. DISCUSSION In the past four years since the New Game was launched, the venue has increased community access, and generated a significant economic vibrancy for the businesses and residents of Abbotsford and surrounding area through successful event and community bookings. Report No. PRC 010-2018 Page 2 of 2 The “Abbotsford Centre 2017 Annual Report” (Attachment A) provides substantial detail. It was clearly another good year for the venue with 52 concerts and special events and hosting over 175,000 guests last year.
