It does take a combination of will and skill, but more importantly is team play and defense, two aspects of the game not always associated with the sport on the AAU level. But, that so-called dirty work on the defensive end, along with an often-difficult to accomplish team chemistry on offense once again proved to be the winning formula for most of the teams in the 20th edition of the prestigious event held in New York's Capital Region over Memorial Day Weekend. No one said it better that Pat McGlynn, coach of the Gold Bracket title at the 17-under age division. "We've got 10 hillbillies who all know what counts in events like this," said McGlynn. "These kids all came here just to play basketball." PAGE | 1 And so they did, and they did it well. The York Ballers were particularly proficient on the defensive end, limiting its three opponents to a tournament-low 70 total points in their three pool-round games and not many more in the championship round. That medicine, BiDil®, was a heart failure medication that set a precedent for being the first approved race based drug for African Americans. Though BiDil®, was the first race specific medicine, racialized bodies have been used all throughout history to advance medical knowledge. The framework for race, history, and racialized drugs was so multi- tiered; it could not be conceptualized from a single perspective. For this reason, this study examines racialized medicine through performance, history, and discourse analysis. The focus of this work aimed to inform and build on a new foundation for social inquiry—using a history film performance to elevate knowledge about race based medicines.

    WiseBall “Traits from the Greats” You think you're a good player? You're a young player with basketball dreams? If you're reading this article, chances are you want to become a great ball player. Chances are you do not have much guidance outside of your team basketball coach. Your coach probably does a great job, but he only has a limited amount of time. So you don't have much to help you work on your individual game. I'm sure you look at NBA games and try to copy "superstar" signature moves, don't you? Though some of these moves are great, It’s not the most important thing you need to master. Have you ever noticed that great players are not necessarily the one with the best moves? Would you agree Tony Parker is one of the best point guards in the NBA? Would you agree he's not the most skilled, or the most athletic? Great players constantly do things that others don't. It has very little to do with skills or even athleticism. If you want to make it as a player, why not duplicate what great basketball players have always done? Do you want to know what they do? They play hard, they play smart, they play with heart! Offensively Great players: Catch the ball on a triple threat position (Don't dribble right away) Minimize dribbling. Great offensive players only need 2 dribbles to beat their defender.
