Minute of the Nevay & Kirkinch Community Association meeting held on Action 27th May 2019 Present: Philip Jenkins, Marianne Jenkins, Debra Ritchie, Scott Davidson, Linda Treviling, Andy Blackie, Charlie Brown

1. Welcome & apologies Philip welcomed everyone to the meeting. There were no apologies for absence.

2. Matters arising Andy and Philip will attend to the problem with the roof when the weather PJ/AB improves. Andy and Charlie will liaise regarding the replacement flue for the boiler and AB/CB clean out the soil and vegetation in the gutters. Philip and Debra had applied to the Foyle Foundation and The Robertson Trust for funding towards the cost of improving the heating system. Andy can get another quotation if required. Charlie and Scott will look at the possibility of marking out bays for car parking. CB/SD

3. Finance The cash book was sent with the agenda. Expenditure has been more than income since the start of April but this was due to investment in the hall. The PPL music licence cost £667. Andy asked to see a copy of the warranty for the new cooker.

4. Business Development A booklet has been produced to promote the treatment room. Copies will be put in post offices in , and and Council offices. It has already been added to the Business Connections web-site.

5. Policy & Administration Marianne had emailed the insurance company about the need for extra insurance for the defibrillator. As ENKCA owns and maintains it, it is covered under the existing policy. The fire extinguishers were tested, one had to be replaced. Marianne reported that all village halls in Angus had been supplied with feminine hygiene products and had been asked to send a photograph, Andy offered to do AB this.

6. Lettings and events CB The Dundee Rep will be performing at Eassie Hall in June, tickets are on sale. AB Charlie will send out an email to the community to inform them about the play. Andy will buy popcorn to sell along with the strawberries and cream. The Nine Maidens Walk will take place on 16th June and there will be Yoga Day organised by Jill Hamilton on 6th July. The Strathmore Room has been booked for an embroidery sample course. Dudley Trefry had asked if the hall could be used for Newtyle First Responders PJ to meet on one evening; this was agreed and Philip will reply to his email. AB Afternoon teas in August have been advertised, Andy will display posters. Debra has invited Trustees of the Aberbrothock Skea Trust who funded the new table tennis tables. Other invitations will be sent to local people who have assisted ENKCA over the past year.

8. Buildings maintenance The spring clean day will take place between 9am and 3pm on Saturday 29th June, all community members are encouraged to help. AB The garden behind the hall has been dug and seeds sewn. Andy will spray the patio and paths with weed-killer. One of the rhododendrons in the tubs needs to be transplanted into the ground. Andy has fixed the problem in the Gents’ toilets.
