Morning: - Sintra

Departure from Lisbon after breakfast (8.30h) Visit to Sintra, a picturesque Portuguese village, located in the heart of the Sintra's mountains.Capital of romanticism, the cultural landscape of Sintra has been classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site since 1995. Wander through the village that enchanted kings and inspired poets. Stroll its streets, discover the magnificence of Sintra's national palace, one of the few palaces built in the Middle Ages that has come almost intact to our days. Enjoy Sintra's famous traditional pastries - the queijadas and the travesseiros. The next tourist attraction is the palace of Pena which is located on top of the hill and was designed by the artistic King Ferdinand II. The palace is an extravagant mixture of bright colours and beautiful stone sculptures. A real fantasy castle. In the park that surrounds it we can walk between gardens and lush forest with more than 500 species of trees from the most diverse points of the world. From the castle we can see the Moorish Castle, built in the 9th century for protection, but unable to defend the Moors against the Christian crusades.

Afternoon: Sintra – Colares – Azenhas do Mar – Cabo da Roca – Cascais - Lisbon
