Perancangan Komunikasi Visual Promo Album Art of Disc Jockey (DJ) Wilmix 2002-2003 BAB 2. IDENTIFIKASI DAN ANALISIS 2.1. Identifikasi Sumber Pesan “Wilmix” merupakan nama yang digunakan oleh DJ Wilson untuk kepentingan entertainment-nya. Wilmix ini sendiri terdiri dari dua kata, yakni Wil yang disini adalah singkatan dari nama DJ tersebut, yakni Wilson, sedangkan untuk Mix, ini merupakan singkatan dari Mixing, yang merupakan salah satu istilah dalam dunia per -DJ-an. Sedangkan judul yang diambil untuk peluncuran album perdana ini, yakni Art Of Disck Jockey (DJ) 2002-2003, disini maksud dari pemberian judul tersebut adalah ingin memberikan suatu wahana baru dalam dunia musik dan khususnya dalam dunia DJ, dimana musik merupakan salah satu bagian dari dunia seni dan bagaimana musik yang dihasilkan oleh deorang disc jockey itu berasal dari seni menggabungkan beberapa sound sampling sehingga dapat menjadi beberapa lagu/musik dan tanpa keahlian serta kepekaan terhadap musik belum tentu seseorang dapat melakukan pekerjaan DJ ini. Karena dalam menghasilkan musik dari seorang DJ, lagu/musiknya tersebut tidak dapat ditiru oleh band-band dikarenakan sound sampling-nya original atau berdasarkan hasil merekam sendiri dan bukan be rasal dari keyboard, gitar, atau beberapa alat musik lainnya. Dikeluarkannya album ini berdasarkan inisiatif dari DJ.Wilson itu sendiri, disebabkan oleh pengamatannya terhadap perkembangan musik yang ada di Indonesia, serta berdasarkan pengalamannya yang telah bergelut pada dunia ini selama 14 tahun, yakni sejak tahun 1989 sampai sekarang, maka dengan optimis ia mengeluarkan album sebagai pelopor peluncuran album DJ pertama di Indonesia. Untuk influence album DJ ini banyak belajar dari keberadaan Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Fat Boy Slim, Sasha, Robbie Rivera, Timo Mass, yang dimana mereka adalah DJ-DJ yang berasal dari luar negeri yang telah mengeluarkan album dan mendapat respon yang sangat baik, dan respon inipun terlihat pada masyarakat di Indonesia, dan dari album-album DJ itulah digunakan sebagai patokan dalam mengeluarkan album ini. Saat ini DJ.Wilson berdomisili di Bali, dan sebagai resident DJ pada Double Six Bali, jenis musik yang ditampilkan adalah beberapa jenis musik yang mungkin tidak lazim terdengar ditelinga masyarakat pada umumnya, yakni Ryhtm & Blues (RNB), Hip Hop, Old School, Top 40, Garage, House, Latin (salsa, marengge),Progressive, Trance, Drum N Bass, Break Beat, Alternative, sebagai dasar dari jenis musiknya, sedangkan aliran musik yang akan dihadirkan dalam album kali ini, adalah Progressive dan jenis lagunya yakni Garage (Groovy House) dengan sampling Hip Hop & Old School, dan jenis musik ini masih sangat jarang diIndonesia. Sedamgkan progressive itu sendiri merupakan jenis musik yang didalamnya akan terdapat bunyi-bunyian ataupun suara salah satu alat musik yang sedang trend untuk periode tertentu5. CDJ Player : Alat ini digunakan untuk memutar CD 2.2. Identifikasi Target Audience Untuk memulai proses periklanan haruslah terlebih dahulu memutuskan kepada siapa pesan itu akan disampaikan, dan dengan melihat dari promo album ini, maka khayalak sasaran dapat ditetapkan sebagai berikut, Segi Demografis - Jenis Kelamin : Pria dan Wanita - Usia : 19-28 Tahun - Pekerjaan : Mahasiswa dan Professional muda - Status : Menikah dan Belum menikah - Sosial Ekonomi : Menengah dan menengah keatas Segi Geografis - Kota-kota besar di Indonesia, khususnya Bali dan Jakarta - Kota/daerah yang mempunyai café, club ataupun pub. Analisis dan Sintesis 2.3.1. Analisis SWOT Dengan menggunakan metode analisa SWOT, akan lebih mudah dalam mencari peluang yang ada dipasar musik Indonesia, khususnya untuk jenis musik pada album DJ ini. Karena kelebihan dan kekurangan dari perancangan komunikasi visual yang nantinya akan dibuat ini akan diketahui melalui beberapa analisis SWOT7, yang antara lain, Strengths - Memiliki jenis musik yang tidak pasaran serta unik, karena jenis musiknya tidak dapat ditiru oleh band -band , karena musiknya bukan berasal dari keyboard ataupun gitar. - Merupakan DJ pertama diIndonesia yang mengeluarkan album - Sifat lagunya commercial, mudah diterima oleh market/tidak hadir dengan gaya yang idealis. - Mengutamakan sisi art dalam melakukan penggabungan musik, sehingga menjadi sebua h bentuk karya seni yang layak untuk dinikmati. Weakness - Banyaknya album-album band ataupun single yang beredar diIndonesia, sehingga agak susah untuk memasuki pasar yang sudah mengenal jenis album seperti itu, dengan format album DJ, serta dengan aliran musik yang masih kurang diketahui oleh masyarakat umum. - Banyaknya salah pengertian serta perusakan terhadap jenis musik yang dimainkan oleh seorang DJ, karena masalah tersebut sehingga dunia DJ terkadang mendapatkan tanggapan yang negatif dari masyarakat tertentu. - Merupakan DJ Indonesia yang hadir dengan album di tengah-tengah makin banyaknya band-band/single yang mengeluarkan album. 7 William Wells. Threath - Walaupun ini merupakan peluncuran pertama jenis album DJ yang beredar diIndonesia, namun masih banyak ancaman yang mungkin akan dialami oleh eksis tidaknya keberadaan jenis musik seperti ini, dikarenakan masih sangat terpakunya masyarakat Indonesia oleh keberadaan jenis musik yang dimainkan oleh band-band ataupun penyanyi lainnya, karena itu jenis album ini akan memulai persaingan dengan jenis musik yang telah mempunyai tempat di masyarakat umum, dan apabila tidak mampu memberikan sesuatu yang lain dan unik maka jenis musik seperti ini tidak akan bertahan. - Masih banyaknya pemikiran masyarakat umum bahwa jenis lagu dari seorang DJ itu, lebih kepada merusak jenis musik yang sudah ada, padahal ini hanya merupakan kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh para DJ yang tidak professional, serta banyak pula asumsi bahwa jenis musik ini hanyalah sebagai salah satu sarana penunjang untuk melakukan sesuatu yang negatif, misalnya untuk tripping, mabok-mabokan dan lain sebagainya, padahal bukan seperti itu keberadaan seorang DJ, dan bukan jenis musik yang dirusak itu yang menjadi jenis musik dari seorang DJ yang proffesional8. Alternatif Pemecahan Masalah Beberapa alternatif yang akan dipakai dalam pemecahan masalah yakni, - Dengan melalui promosi-promosi yang dilakukan dengan langsung mengarah pada target audiencenya, yang disertai dengan banyaknya informasi yang diberikan, sehingga cara berpikir masyarakat yang masih negatif mengalami perubahan sehingga jenis musik seperti ini dapat lebih diterima - Dengan adanya strategi pemasaran, baik itu untuk ja ngka panjang ataupun jangka pendek - Dengan melakukan strategi periklanan - Melakukan strategi media, untuk penempatan sarana promosi, sehingga apa yang ingin dipromosikan dapat mencapai tujuan yang diinginkan. .
