Of the 21 players to earn All-America recognition, 15 have been offensive lineman. Additionally, Wulff has mentored 15 players who have earned 18 total CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII honors and a total of 131 All-Big Sky Conference Academic team members. As a student-athlete and four-year starter at center for the Cougars from 1986-89, Wulff was an All-America honoree himself as a senior, earning honorable mention accolades from The Sporting News. Wulff started at center under three different coaches after redshirting in 1985. He played for Jim Walden in 1986, Dennis Erickson from 1987-88 and Mike Price in 1989. He was also the starting center on WSU’s 1988 Aloha Bowl championship team. After a successful collegiate career Wulff had a brief pro career as a center after graduating from Washington State University in 1990. He signed a free agent contract with the , but was released after injuring an ankle and a rib in the preseason. He played in spring 1991 with Raleigh-Durham of the World League, then played in spring 1992 with New York-New Jersey. A 1985 graduate of Davis High School in Davis, Calif., Wulff played for three different coaches while he was at WSU. He redshirted in 1985 and started four games at guard in 1986 under Jim Walden. Dennis Erickson directed the program in 1987 and 1988 with Wulff as his starting center both years. Sept. 27, 2008, PULLMAN – LeGarrette Blount and Jeremiah Johnson each rushed for Oct. 4, 2008, PASADENA, Calif. – Kahlil Bell rushed for two touchdowns and Ryan Moya three touchdown, part of seven scored on the ground for the Ducks, as Oregon defeated caught a pair of touchdown passes as UCLA defeated Washington State 28-3, to end a Washington State 63-14 on the Cougas’ Homecoming Day. Oregon produced 346 yards on three-game Cougar winning streak in Pasadena dating back to the 1998 season. Following the ground and added 161 yards in the air, including two touchdown receptions by Jaison a scoreless first quarter, the Bruins took a 14-0 lead into halftime. The Cougars opened the Williams, en route to the victory. WSU redshirt freshman Marshall Lobbestael completed 22 second half by cutting into the lead after a season-best 47-yard field goal by Nico Grasu, but of 41 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns in his debut as a starter.WSU’s first score, that was as close as WSU came. Moya’s second touchdown of the game, a 12-yard pass a nine-yard Lobbestael pass to Jeshua Anderson, capped a 14-play, 82-yard drive that took from Kevin Craft and a one-yard Bell run early in the fourth quarter closed out the scoring. 6:48, the longest Cougar scoring drive of the season. Senior Brandon Gibson caught a Brandon Gibson led the Cougars with six catches for 62 yards while Dwight Tardy had 50 season-high 10 passes for 103 yards while safety Xavier Hicks collected a Cougar-season- yards rushing on 17 carrier. Defensively freshman Louis Bland registered eight tackles, high 14 tackles on the game. including two tackles-for-loss, in just his second career start.

Nov. 15, 2008, TEMPE – Rudy Carpenter threw three touchdown passes and the Sun Devil Nov. 22, 2008, PULLMAN – Sophomore kicker Nico Grasu kicked three field goals, one to defense held the Cougars to 130 yards of total offense as Arizona State defeated Wash- end regulation and two in overtime, to lift Washington State to a 16-13, come-from-behind ington State 31-0. The game marked the third time during the 2008 season the Cougars victory over rival Washington in the Apple Cup. Trialing by three with :56 seconds remain- were held scoreless. It was a scorelss game through the first quarter before Thomas Weber ing in regulation, the Cougars drove 69 yards, including a 48-yard Kevin Lopina-to-Jared kicked a 21-yard field goal early in the second quarter to open the scoring. Taking a 10-0 Karstetter pass to the Washington 18 and was capped by Grasu’s 28-yard field goal with lead into the third quarter, Carpenter hooked up with Kyle Williams on a pair of touchdown no time remaining to send the game to overtime. After the teams exchanged first goals, the passes to put the game away. WSU senior receiver Brandon Gibson’s three first-half re- Cougar defense held Washington to a missed field goal in the second overtime, setting the ceptions moved him into a tie for second place on the career receptions list while his 41 stage for Grasu’s 37-yard game-winner.
