Appendix-2012-48 Borders NHS Board ‘END OF YEAR’ REPORT Aim To update the Board on some of the achievements of NHS Borders staff over the past 12 months through an ‘End of Year’ Report. Background The ‘End of Year’ report is the first of its kind that celebrates and publicises some of the achievements of NHS Borders staff over the past 12 months. It pulls together just some key pieces of work and achievements by staff across all clinical boards during 2011-12and aligns these with the organisation’s four Corporate Objectives to show some of the ways we are delivering on Patient Safety; Health improvements and Inequalities; Performance and Delivery and Processes and Structures. Summary The report highlights some key achievements, in practical terms, that show the innovation and commitment of staff as they ensure our services are safe, effective, patient-centred and efficient at all times. These include: Patient Safety - New Planned Surgical Admissions Unit - Tissue Viability Pilot - Softcasting Health Improvement and Inequalities - Baby Friendly Initiative - Health Improvement - Lifestyle Advisor Support Service Performance and Delivery - Maternity Unit - Hysteroscopy Clinic Service - Health Working Lives Processes and Structures - Breast Cancer Pledge - Intentional Rounding - Hay Lodge Health Hub 1 Appendix-2012-48 Recommendation The Board is asked to note the report for publication.
