Ufc Light Heavyweight Champion Cormier and Anik Call Saturday's Fox Ufc Fight Night: Emmett Vs. Stephens FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: John Stouffer Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018 [email protected] UFC LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION CORMIER AND ANIK CALL SATURDAY’S FOX UFC FIGHT NIGHT: EMMETT VS. STEPHENS Former Champions Cruz and Bisping Serve as Desk Analysts Alongside FOX Host Menefee and FS1 Host Bryant LOS ANGELES – Today, FOX Sports announces UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier joins blow-by-blow announcer Jon Anik to call FOX UFC FIGHT NIGHT: EMMETT VS. STEPHENS live from Orlando on Saturday, Feb. 24 (8:00 PM ET) on FOX and FOX Sports GO. Victor Davila and Brandon Moreno have the call in Spanish on FOX Deportes. Former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and former middleweight champion Michael Bisping work as desk analysts alongside FOX host Curt Menefee, and lead UFC host Karyn Bryant on FS1 and FS2. Reporter Megan Olivi reports from Orlando for Friday and Saturday’s coverage. Fresh off big knockout wins, featherweight contenders No. 4 Josh Emmett (13-1) and No. 7 Jeremy Stephens (26-14) travel from California to Orlando to battle it out in a hard-hitting main event. A member of the UFC roster for more than a decade, Stephens is showing his best form yet, as he’s defeated Gilbert Melendez and Dooho Choi in his last two bouts. But Emmett is another fighter surging at the right time, with his December 2017 finish of Ricardo Lamas landing him on several Knockout of the Year lists. “I’d say there is 100 percent chance of a knockout in this fight. Both swing for the fences. Both are knockout artists,” says FOX Sports UFC analyst Chris Weidman. “They’re not going to stop swinging until someone goes out.” Watch the FOX UFC FIGHT NIGHT preview from Sunday’s FS1 UFC POSTFIGHT SHOW here. FOX Sports UFC programming starts on Wednesday, Feb. 21 with UFC TONIGHT airing at a special time, 7:00 PM ET, on FS2 and FOX Sports GO with host Kenny Florian and guest host Bisping interviewing Stephens about his Saturday headliner. On Friday, Feb. 23 (6:00 PM ET), the UFC FIGHT NIGHT WEIGH-IN SHOW begins with Bryant, Cruz and Bisping discussing the fighters, and Olivi reporting on FS2 and FOX Sports Go. The same crew gets things started on Saturday at 5:00 PM ET with the UFC FIGHT NIGHT PREFIGHT SHOW on FS2, previewing the evening’s fights. The two-hour UFC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS on FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO begin at 6:00 PM ET with four thrilling bouts. Bantamweight Renan Barao (36-5, 1NC) and Brian Kelleher (18-8) collide. No. 7-ranked bantamweight Sara McMann (11-4) takes on No. 8 Marion Reneau (8-3-1), while No. 14 strawweight Maryna Moroz (8-2) faces Angela Hill (7-4). Plus, Ben Saunders (21-8-2) and Alan Jouban (15-6) open the PRELIMS with a welterweight scrap. Saturday’s two-hour main card (FOX, FOX Deportes and FOX Sports GO, 8:00 PM ET), also features No. 2-ranked strawweight Jessica Andrade (17-6) and No. 5 Tecia Torres (10-1). No. 5-ranked light heavyweight Ovince Saint Preux (22-10) and No. 8 Ilir Latifi (14-5, 1NC) square off. Plus, Mike Perry (11-2) and Max Griffin (13-4) open the main card with a welterweight bout. Saturday’s action wraps up with the UFC FIGHT NIGHT POSTFIGHT SHOW on FS1.
