U18 All Star game 2011 roster management own plays calendar U18 All Star game 2011 welcome Dear Basketball Friends, On behalf of FIBA Europe it is my pleasure to welcome you to the U18 All Star Game. While EuroBasket is our flagship event, FIBA Europe is working hard every summer, helping to build the future of basketball in Europe. Our Youth European Championships at the U16, U18 and U20 levels have become important tools in developing talent and have become a favourite with fans as well. The game you are about to see is a natural extension of that commitment and popularity but it also highlights our efforts to prepare the next generation of coaches. Four of the coaches you will see on the sidelines today are the most successful graduates of the second class of the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate Programme, an initiative undertaken by FIBA Europe to school young coaches in the finer points of developing young talent and raise their level to the highest international standards. It is our belief that the efforts of FIBA Europe and those of our member federations will result in the continued growth of our sport across the continent. Best of luck to all the participants and enjoy the game. Best regards, Olafur Rafnsson FIBA Europe President Dear Basketball Friends, Welcome to Kaunas and the U18 All Star Game. As we prepare to crown the EuroBasket champions here in Lithuania, it is only appropriate that we take some time to consider the future of our game. The players you are about to see in this game represent the best at their age level from across Europe. They provide evidence of the growth of our sport, as they come from not only traditional basketball countries like Spain, Turkey or EuroBasket 2011 hosts Lithuania, but also from nations like Denmark and San Marino. Several of the assistant coaches for the game are graduates of the second class of the FIBA Europe Coaching Certificate. They too represent the future of our sport and come from countries as varied as Norway, Slovenia, Greece and Denmark. The U18 All Star Game should be a lot of fun to watch, and the perfect introduction to the final week- end of EuroBasket 2011. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organizers of this event and to wish all of the contestants the best of luck. Best regards, Nar Zanolin FIBA Europe Secretary General Page 3 U18 All Star game 2011 information Dear Basketball Friends, FIBA Europe is very pleased to announce the FIBA Europe U18 All Star Game to take place from 15th to 17th September 2011 in Kaunas, Lithuania.
