Respect others and their ideas, don’t dismiss them summarily. At the same time, don’t forget common sense, maintain integrity, and uphold virtue. Know why before accepting or rejecting something and consider the potential outcome. Recent moves to expand abortion access in New York and elsewhere call us to remember this old adage. It seems that for the PUBLISHER BISHOP MICHAEL OLSON sake of “progress” we’ve replaced moderation with extremes — COmmUNICATIONS DIRECTOR PAT SVACINA and that is seldom good. We’ve let our brains fall out. • UVA LAW | Fed Soc- Hamilton Event
UVA LAW | Fed Soc- Hamilton Event INTERVIEWER: Welcome, everyone, to our last event of the semester, "An Original Document For Every Song InH amilton." Today, we're honored to be joined by Judge Charles Eskridge of the US district court for the Southern District of Texas. Judge Eskridge was appointed to the bench in 2019. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Houston Law Center, teaching on the origins of the Constitution and as a member of the American Law Institute. JUDGE Thank you. Thank you very much, and I'm so glad to be here and to have had the invitation to speak to the CHARLES University of Virginia. I have done this presentation on Hamilton many times at many different law schools, and I ESKRIDGE: have to say that doing it for the University of Virginia, which has obviously such a close connection to Thomas Jefferson but also geographically to James Madison and George Washington, that plays such a big role, each of them in this show, that this really does have extra meaning for me. So now, I wouldn't necessarily say that I'm obsessed withH amilton, but I was all over the soundtrack when it came out. And then-- let me get the share screen started here. And then, my wife noticed a Facebook meme that year and said it applied to me. My thoughts have been replaced by Hamilton lyrics, and it was not just a few lyrics, mind you. 20,520 words to be precise. That works out to about 140 words per minute in the show.

  • For the Five Day Bible Reading Schedule
The Reader’s Companion for the Five Day Bible Reading Schedule COMPLETE - OLD & NEW TESTAMENTS 2021 edition Mark Roberts PREFACE Would you like to regularly read God’s word and understand it? Could meaningful study of the Scriptures become an important part of your spiritual growth this year? Would you like to take the Bible deeply into your heart so you know God better than ever? Welcome to The Readers’ Companion to the Old and New Testaments! The goal of The Reader’s Companion is to assist you in regularly studying the Bible. The Compan- ion does this by making the Scriptures more understandable. Being able to “get it,” to comprehend the Scriptures, is of enormous value to every disciple. First, reading with un- derstanding is essential if we are to live out what we read. The Bible’s goal is not simply to give us knowledge but instead to transform how we live (James 1:22). This is not pos- sible if we do not first understand what is going on in the text, what it means, or what is being said. Secondly, when we understand the Scriptures, we are reading we are changed by them and that gives us incentive to continue and read more. All of us need self-disci- pline when it comes to Bible reading. Much vies for our time and attention today. With The Five Day Bible Reading Schedule you only need to read one chapter a day to complete the entire New Testament this year. If you add to that reading about four to five chapters a day in the Old Testament you can complete the entire Bible in a year.

Stuart Murray Williams, autor de Church After Christendom y de Changing Mission:Learning from Newer Churches. «Nos encontramos de nuevo en el año 30 AD.
