SHOP NOW AT WWW.EASTON.COM/SLOW-PITCH 8 Senior Softball News Fall 2016 Edition Opinions &Letters Why We Do It This month the largest senior single-sport tournament in America begins in Las Vegas. The LVSSA/SSUSA World Masters Championships will attract 15,000 players and their friends and families from almost every state in The Union. This production has taken the better part of the year to plan and will take thousands of hours of labor to imple- ment. Why do we do it? The first response from teams paying $745 entry fees is usually, “It’s all about the money.” Wrong. Very wrong. Certainly there is a return of monetary investment for both LVSSA and SSUSA, but it not the driving force behind this event. The driving force is the determination of each associa- tion – LVSSA and SSUSA – to produce the biggest and best tournament in the sport. Why? Sue Ballenger It’s not simple pride, although we are very proud of the World Masters Championships. Keeping Life in Perspective A tournament of this size attracts national and interna- tional attention for the sport, which helps grow the sport And we would like to thank every player and fan who throughout America and the world. participates in this event and helps spread the word about We love this game and want to see it expand so that the sport we love. every senior has the opportunity to play.
