It then rocketed to #1 (Billboard Chart date week of 02/07/10) after hitting #2 in COMEDY CENTRAL's "Stand-Up Showdown." He released his first digital-only EP "Bo Fo Sho" on iTunes in June and the album hit #1 on the iTunes comedy album chart and #6 on the overall iTunes album chart. Burnham's upcoming projects include embarking on the "Bo Burnham and (No) Friends Tour" in October and a 30-minute scripted pilot for MTV about a kid, fresh out of high school, who pursues the American dream of being a celebrity without having any talent. Burnham just wrapped up a 30-day run at the Edinburgh Fringe Fest where he performed to sell-out audiences and won the "Spirit of the Fringe Award." He was also the youngest performer ever nominated for the "Best Show Award" in the festival's 30-year history. Additionally, Burnham has already started compiling film credits with roles in Judd Apatow's "Funny People" and, most recently, Federighi's coming-of-age comedy "Sin Bin." Older children, on the other hand, learn many new words through independent reading. Whether children are pre-readers or already reading independently, there is a growing consensus among educators regarding the need for direct teaching of academic vocabulary in a systematic program. In fact, recent research has shown not only that it is important, but that it is important much earlier than was previously thought. This is especially true for children who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom enter school knowing far fewer words than their middle class peers. The words in the Wordly Wise 3000® series will expand the vocabularies and minds of today’s students. • COMEDY CENTRAL Records Releases Ryan Stout's "Touche" Debut Digital Album on December 6
COMEDY CENTRAL Records Releases Ryan Stout's "Touche" Debut Digital Album on December 6 NEW YORK, Nov. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ryan Stout tends to say the wrong thing – in exactly the right way. Or, maybe, it's the right thing in the wrong way! In any case, COMEDY CENTRAL Records releases Ryan Stout's debut digital album, "Touche" on Tuesday, December 6. Recorded live at Acme Comedy Company in Minneapolis, MN, "Touche" is packed with complex twists, unexpected turns, and sharp punch lines. Exploring morally repugnant subject matter with smart and sterile objectivity, Stout's delightful insincerity and self-righteousness make this digital album both witty and wicked. To assure his brand of "offensive humor" stays on an intellectual level, he generally keeps profanity out of his act, even while touching on such subjects as sexual assault and abortion in his own clever manner. Ryan Stout has toured the globe with his extremely well-crafted stand-up for more than ten years. When he was only 22 years old, he won first place in the Boston International Comedy Festival's Stand-up Comedy Competition. Many opportunities soon followed, including performances at "The Comedy Festival" in Las Vegas, at HBO's "U.S. Comedy Arts Festival" in Aspen, and at the prestigious "Just for Laughs" International Comedy Festival in Montreal. In the world of television, Stout has hosted various series and specials for MTV, including the iconic "MTV's Spring Break." He has appeared as a regular guest on "Chelsea Lately," made his late-night stand-up debut on "Conan,"

  • Best, Next and Radical Practice in Participatory Arts
ITAC Best, next and radical practice in participatory3 arts The Third International Teaching Artist Conference Best, next and radical practice in participatory arts The Third International Teaching Artist Conference (ITAC3) took place at the John McIntyre Conference Centre in Edinburgh from 3-5 August 2016. Creative Scotland managed and hosted ITAC3 in partnership with Paul Hamlyn Foundation, Artworks Alliance and the conference originators Eric Booth and Marit Ulvund of SEANSE, Norway and previous hosts, Brad Haseman and Judith McLean from Queensland University of Technology Brisbane. For Scotland and the UK, ITAC 3 was an opportunity to share, discuss and disseminate the significant body of learning from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation ArtWorks Special Initiative: developing practice in participatory settings. It was also an opportunity to build on previous ArtWorks Scotland conferences (2011-14), consciously creating a sense of ‘continuity’ for the Scottish community of practice. The ITAC3 conference aims were to: • share practice, learning and research in the field of participatory arts (including through hands on/ participatory activity); • showcase best and next practice for the host and visiting nations; • generate new connections and building a palpable energy towards an international community. The Conference Themes were led by the following questions: • How can we collectively strengthen support for artists working with people? • How is participatory arts practice evolving to meet the challenges of the 21st century? • What can the world learn from radical approaches to socially engaged art-making? Visit the conference website www.itac3.com This report tells a story of the conference in three different ways. We invite you to choose your journey to experience the conference in your own way.

Recently named by Entertainment Weekly as one of the "12 Rising Stars of Comedy,” Burnham combines rapid-fire jokes, piano ballads, dance routines, lyrically dexterous songs and hilarious one-liners into performances that are the antithesis of the typical one-man-and-his-mic stand-up. Burnham's first CD/DVD was released through Comedy Central Records and rocketed to #1 on the Billboard comedy chart after hitting #2 in Comedy Central's "Stand-Up Showdown." He was also featured in his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents and, at 18, became the youngest person to record such a special. His first one-hour special, Words, Words, Words," was taped at Comedy Central's House of Comedy live from House of Blues in Boston. While still in high school, Burnham launched his career by posting on YouTube two songs he had written and recorded as jokes between him and his friends. Eight months and seven songs later, Bo's videos have been seen over 10 million times worldwide, generating literally hundreds of thousands of laughs. With the Comedy Central specials, a best-selling book of poems, a sitcom under his belt and a movie in the works, 23-year-old Burnham has crammed more into his short career than many comedians twice his age and is now on tour.
