ERIC CLAPTON BIOGRAFIA Eric Patrick Clapton nasceu em 30/03/1945 em Ripley, Inglaterra. Ganhou a sua primeira guitarra aos 13 anos e se interessou pelo Blues americano de artistas como Robert Johnson e Muddy Waters. Apelidado de Slowhand, é considerado um dos melhores guitarristas do mundo. O reconhecimento de Clapton só começou quando entrou no “Yardbirds”, banda inglesa de grande influência que teve o mérito de reunir três dos maiores guitarristas de todos os tempos em sua formação: Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck e Jimmy Page. Apesar do sucesso que o grupo fazia, Clapton não admitia abandonar o Blues e, em sua opinião, o Yardbirds estava seguindo uma direção muito pop. Sai do grupo em 1965, quando John Mayall o convida a juntar-se à sua banda, os “Blues Breakers”. Gravam o álbum “Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton”, mas o relacionamento com Mayall não era dos melhores e Clapton deixa o grupo pouco tempo depois. Em 1966, forma os “Cream” com o baixista Jack Bruce e o baterista Ginger Baker. Com a gravação de 4 álbuns (“Fresh Cream”, “Disraeli Gears”, “Wheels Of Fire” e “Goodbye”) e muitos shows em terras norte americanas, os Cream atingiram enorme sucesso e Eric Clapton já era tido como um dos melhores guitarristas da história. A banda separa-se no fim de 1968 devido ao distanciamento entre os membros. Neste mesmo ano, Clapton a convite de seu amigo George Harisson, toca na faixa “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” do White Album dos Beatles. Forma os “Blind Faith” em 1969 com Steve Winwood, Ginger Baker e Rick Grech, que durou por pouco tempo, lançando apenas um album. -

Intertextualidade Entre a Bíblia E Tears in Heaven De Eric Clapton
1 INTERTEXTUALIDADE ENTRE A BÍBLIA E TEARS IN HEAVEN DE ERIC CLAPTON Carlos R. Caldas Filho1 RESUMO: A partir da perspectiva apontada pelo crítico literário Northrop Frye, que apresenta a Bíblia como o “grande código” da civilização e cultura ocidentais, e trabalhando com a ferramenta teórica da intertextualidade, de Julia Kristeva, a presente comunicação visa apresentar elementos de uma leitura intertextual entre o texto bíblico e a letra da canção Tears in Heaven (“Lágrimas no Paraíso”), do poeta, instrumentista e intérprete de blues Eric Clapton, da Inglaterra. Percebem-se no texto da referida poesia pontos de contato com diversas passagens bíblicas. A partir daí verifica-se como o texto bíblico funciona como background (“pano de fundo”) da poesia Tears in Heaven. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: Crítica literária – intertextualidade – Eric Clapton – Bíblia – escatologia individual Introdução – fundamentação teórica O ponto do trabalho que ora se apresenta é apresentar, na perspectiva da intertextualidade (textual e temática) elementos religiosos na letra da música Tears in Heaven, de Eric Clapton. Tais elementos religiosos são de fundo cristão, e o texto que serve de background (“pano de fundo”) para a referida poesia é a Bíblia. Logo, necessário se faz comentar, posto que em síntese, o que se quer dizer por intertextualidade. Por intertextualidade se entende a superposição de um texto sobre outro, a influência que um texto exerce sobre outro. Quando acontece intertextualidade um texto funciona como ponto de partida para outro. O segundo texto em casos assim se torna uma espécie de atualização do primeiro. Exemplo claro e explícito é a bela poesia O operário em construção, de Vinícius de Morais, que tem evidente intertextualidade com a narrativa evangélica do relato de tentação de Jesus no deserto, conforme Lucas 4:1-13. -
