VOLUME 29 NUMBER 2 January 15th, 2019 Local Government Junior Council Elects Members

By Canishka Alexander Recently, there’s been a buzz of activ- ity among members of the Local Govern- ment Junior Council (LGJC) Programme at S.C. Bootle High School. On Dec. 13, the student body of S. C. Bootle High School welcomed the LGJC’s 2018 elected members. Coordinated by Lauralee Davis at S.C. Bootle, the LGJC is a national pro- gramme established to ensure that Local Government has a wider pool of talent to choose from. “This programme allows young peo- ple to have a say in the running of their school environs and communities. The process of election is the same as the actual Local Government’s, where nine persons are elected and form a council,” Davis The 2018 Local Government Junior Councillors of S. C. Bootle High School. The members will be sworn in on Jan. 19. explained. “The council then vote on the chief and deputy chief councillors.
