It is a nocturnal primate, consuming insects in its natural habitat. However, palatability of Nymphalidae and Papilionidae butterflies families as the feed of Tarsius fuscus is unknown. The butterflies are available abundantly around the Tarsius’ captivity in the natural habitat of Tarsius fuscus, therefore they are a potential natural feeding for Tarsius fuscus. This study aims to determine the palatability of Nymphalidae and Papilionidae butterflies families as the feed for Tarsius fuscus. This information is important to provide natural feeding for Tarsius fuscus, to avoid the dependence of Tarsius fuscus on grasshopper feed in captivity. The palatability treatment used was free choice feeding methods. The diet was given ad- libitum. The results showed that 12 species of butterflies from Nymphalidae family and 9 species of butterflies from the Papilionidae family were palatable for the feed of Tarsius fuscus Keywords : diet, Tarsius fuscus, Lepidoptera, captivity ABSTRAK Tarsius fuscus merupakan salah satu satwa endemik Sulawesi. Primata nocturnal ini diketahui mengkonsumsi berbagai spesies serangga di habitat alaminya, Namun demikian, palatabilitas Tarsius fuscus terhadap kupu-kupu dari familia Nymphalidae dan Papilionidae belum diketahui. Kupu-kupu ini diketahui tersedia cukup melimpah di sekitar lokasi kandang penangkaran yang di bangun di habitat alami Tarsius fuscus sehingga berpotensi tinggi sebagai pakan alami. -

Kampus Unsrat, Manado 95115 e-mail : [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected] ABSTRAK Kupu-kupu berperan penting dalam ekosistem dan dapat membantu proses penyerbukan pada tumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji populasi kupu-kupu di Pulau Mantehage, Sulawesi Utara. Pengambilan sampel kupu-kupu dilakukan dari Maret sampai Mei 2013 di Pulau Mantehage, Sulawesi Utara. Kupu-kupu dikoleksi dengan menggunakan metode sweeping yang diterapkan secara acak sepanjang 500m. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kupu-kupu di Pulau Mantehage ada 19 spesies yang termasuk ke dalam 4 famili yaitu Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, Pieridae dan Riodinidae. Spesies kupu-kupu yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu Catopsilia scylla asema. Famili yang paling banyak ditemukan yaitu Famili Nymphalidae dengan jumlah spesies sebanyak 11 spesies. Kupu-kupu yang paling sedikit yaitu Famili Riodinidae yang memiliki jumlah satu spesies. Kata kunci : Populasi kupu-kupu, Pulau Mantehage, Sulawesi Utara. POPULATION OF BUTTERFLY (LEPIDOPTERA) IN MANTEHAGE ISLAND, NORTH SULAWESI ABSTRACT Butterfly has ecological functions for pollination and as biodicator of ecosystem change. This study was conducted for studying butterfly population in Mantehage Island, North Sulawesi. Butterfly sampling conducted in March until May 2013 in Mantehage island, North Sulawesi. Butterfly were collected by using random sweeping along 500 m. The result showed there were 19 species in 4 families i.e. Nymphalidae, Papilionidae, Pieridae dan Riodinidae. The most commonly butterfly found was Catopsilia scylla asema. The most common family was Nymphalidae with numbers of species were 11 species. -

Press Release ILC FORUM 2018 “INDONESIA TOWARD DIGITAL PARADISE” Net1 Indonesia Ready to Support Implementation of Broadband Internet in Rural Area Jakarta, 24 May 2018 – Net1 Indonesia is ready to support the government in accelerating the provision of internet connections in rural areas, especially in frontier, outermost and least (3T) developed regions of the country. Net1 Indonesia's mission to spread the internet access in the rural area is in line with the government nine agenda priorities or often referred to Nawa Cita, which mentions developing Indonesia’s rural area within the framework of Republic of Indonesia. One of the pillars of those points is realizing the availability of telecommunication infrastructure and network connectivity in the regions. Currently, the Government, through the Ministry of Communications and Informatics, is spurring the availability of internet network for rural areas. According to data from the ministry, currently 73% of villages/sub-lower districts already have internet connection based on 3G technology. Meanwhile, the LTE 4G network only 55%. By 2019, the government is targeting to provide 3G-based internet for more than 83,000 villages. Another target for the upcoming year is covering total of 514 districts/cities by 4G LTE network. So far, only 64% of them have access to 4G LTE. "The advantage of Net1 4G LTE network is running at 450 Mhz frequency, which is perfect for rural area geographic character, with large area but low density. The characteristic of low-frequency is not pursuing the access speed, but covering the larger area," said Larry Ridwan, CEO of Net1 Indonesia, in a discussion forum on Universal Service Obligation (USO), held by Indonesia LTE Community (ILC), at Balai Kartini Exhibition and Convention Center, Jakarta (24/05). -

Various potentials and challenges in agricultural development in the border region are expected to managed and overcome properly. The participation of all parties, is needed to support this sector. The purpose of study was to determine the basic food crop agricultural commodities that have fast growth and competitiveness in the border region of North Sulawesi. This study uses analytical methods with secondary data. The data analysis determined changes in the structure or performance of the regional economy against higher economic structures (provincial or national) is the location quotient analysis (LQ). To determine the performance or productivity of the work of the local economy by comparing it with the larger using Shift Share Analysis (SSA). The results showed that the most superior commodity and the base in the Sangihe Islands Regency was sweet potato with the LQ value of 12.64, cassava 9.1 and peanut 2.96. The results of the Shift Share analysis show that the six agricultural commodities of food crops (lowland rice, dry rice, cassava, sweet potato, peanuts) have not been able to growth in the food crop agriculture sector because it has slow growth. 1 Introduction Border area development is essentially an integral part of national development. Border areas have a strategic value in supporting the success of national development, this are indicated by the characteristics of the activity that is, it has an important impact on the sovereignty of the State and is a driving factor for improving the socio-economic well- being of the surrounding community. -

Butterflies have an important role in the ecosystem of Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Currently, data on the diversity of butterflies on the island are still lacking and have not been published yet. Therefore, this study was aimed to analyze the structure of the butterfly community and its diversity in Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The research was conducted from March 2018 to May 2018 in Sangihe Island, North Sulawesi. Sampling was performed at three types of habitat: a farm, a forest edge, and bushes. Sampling method used was surveyed with purposive sampling. A collection of butterflies was gathered by the sweeping method using sweep net following the transect line randomly for 500 m long. At each habitat, four transects were set and the collection step was duplicated. Sampling was performed from 8.00 am to 15.00 pm. The collection comprised of 5 families, 39 species, and 944 individuals. The most commonly found family was Nymphalidae, while the most abundant species were Junonia hedonia intermedia and Eurema tominia. -

Small island regions are facing disaster risks due to its exposure to various hazards, e.g. floods, landslide and earthquake. In order to achieve long-term disaster resilience, one of the significant strategies is applying spatial planning based on disaster risk reduction. Methods for multi-hazard risk assessment and risk analysis have been broadly discussed, nevertheless its implementation in spatial planning is inadequate. In this study, we conducted a multi-hazard risk mapping of Sangihe Island and reviewed its spatial plan. It is identified disaster risk analysis hardly meets its standard in consequence of insufficient secondary data availability. Also, the spatial plan merely utilises hazard maps for consideration, not yet risk analysis, resulting in allocating vital elements in high risk areas. Hence, secondary data support is necessary in accordance with the needs of standardized risk analysis and is updated regularly. Furthermore, integration of risk analysis into spatial planning is required in order to determine the direction of development, which not only reduces exposure to hazards, but emphasizes more towards capacity building to reduce vulnerability. -
