THE UNIVERSITY BARGE CLUB OF PHILADELPHIA RULES FOR EVENTS SPONSORED BY UBC MEMBERS 1. Any event held at the Barge Club shall be conducted under the direction and control of the member sponsoring the event (“Sponsoring Member”). The Sponsoring Member will be responsible for any and all damage caused by his guests or others invited to the Club, e. g., caterers. 2. Rental fees will be established by the UBC Executive Committee. The rental fee must be paid in full seven days prior to the event. 3. There will be a refundable deposit of $250 which deposit WILL NOT BE RETURNED if the Sponsoring Member does not ensure that the Boathouse is cleaned up. 4. All litter will be removed from the dock, apron, launches, boat bays, grounds and upstairs. 5. All the garbage and trash shall be bagged, in bags tied and unbroken, and placed at the city garbage site downriver from the Boathouse on Kelly Drive at the end of the event. 6. All clean-up equipment and materials will be returned to their original storage station in proper order. 7. No persons under 21 years of age will be served alcoholic beverages of any kind. 8. No drugs or intoxicants other than those acceptable under the law may be used. 9. The event will take place only in the Lilacs, the balcony and, if properly supervised by the Sponsoring Member, the apron and dock. 10. No event shall extend beyond the hour of 12:00 midnight. 11. All Club equipment borrowed for use (tables, chairs, etc.) will be cleaned and returned to their designated storage area and stowed properly as found. 12. Nothing shall be placed in, on or around the shells, sculls, or the shell and scull storage racks. 13. No one shall use, touch or in any way handle any rowing equipment. 14. In the event of damage to equipment, the Sponsoring Member and the Club or private owner shall negotiate fair compensation for the repair of the equipment. If no fair figure is reached, the Executive Committee will fix the fair compensation. 15. In the event participants fail to comply with these rules during the course of the event and, on request of the Sponsoring Member, do not desist from violating the rules, the Sponsoring member will ask those responsible to leave the premises immediately and, if they do not, the event or function will be terminated immediately. .
