The project will be implemented over an 8-year period from 2014 to 2022. The program is also proposed to be implemented using a multitranche financing facility (MFF) of Asian Development Bank (ADB). At present, KEIIP Tranche 1 and 2 projects are under implementation. ADB requires the consideration of environmental issues in all aspects of ADB’s operations, and the requirements for environmental assessment are described in ADB’s Safeguard Policy Statement (SPS), 2009. This states that ADB needs environmental assessment of all project loans, program loans, sector loans, sector development program loans, and loans involving financial intermediaries, and private sector loans. This initial environmental examination (IEE) report is a revised one of an already approved IEE (SD 31). Now package SD 31 has been divided into Lot 1 and Lot 2. Package SD 31 Lot 1 is exclusively for one of the sewerage and drainage (S&D) subprojects of Tranche 3 “Development of S&D network in Churial Extension Pumping Station catchment and Diamond Park catchment and construction of Churial Extension pumping station (annex) in Borough XVI (Part of Ward 124, 143 & 144)” with the omission of the component “laying of RCC sewer line along Bakrahat Road by Micro tunneling method”, originally proposed under SD 31. Package SD 31 Lot 2 is covering the omitted micro tunneling part of package SD 27 and omitted micro tunneling part (located at Bakrahat road) as mentioned above. The package SD 31 Lot 2 is thus exclusively for “Laying of RCC sewer line along Bakrahat road and DH road by micro tunneling and cut & cover method” Tranche 3 loan has been signed and construction work for SD31 is due to start shortly and is likely

An environment has to be created so that the people, who are at the centre of the churning process, are able to lead healthy and creative lives. With the publication of the West Bengal Human Development Report in 2004 and it being subsequently awarded by the UNDP for its dispassionate quality of analysis and richness in contents, we had to strive really hard to prepare the District Human Development Reports.

Hungry Bengal: War, Famine, Riots, and the End of Empire 1939-1946 By Janam Mukherjee A dissertation submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Anthropology and History) In the University of Michigan 2011 Doctoral Committee: Professor Barbara D. Metcalf, Chair Emeritus Professor David W. Cohen Associate Professor Stuart Kirsch Associate Professor Christi Merrill 1 "Unknown to me the wounds of the famine of 1943, the barbarities of war, the horror of the communal riots of 1946 were impinging on my style and engraving themselves on it, till there came a time when whatever I did, whether it was chiseling a piece of wood, or burning metal with acid to create a gaping hole, or cutting and tearing with no premeditated design, it would throw up innumerable wounds, bodying forth a single theme - the figures of the deprived, the destitute and the abandoned converging on us from all directions. The first chalk marks of famine that had passed from the fingers to engrave themselves on the heart persist indelibly." 2 Somnath Hore 1 Somnath Hore. "The Holocaust." Sculpture. His always gentle, thoughtful and brilliant spirit has been guiding this work since his death in May of 2002 - and this is still our work.
