You’re able to log into your dashboard from anywhere, and you’ll be able to access all the features with no issues at all easily. The dashboard is also easy to navigate. Since it’s divided into a couple of sections, you won’t have any issues sifting through the different sections and looking at all of the data collected. The main page also has a snapshot of all the alerts, and you can click on the alerts for more details. WebWatcher Complaints: What Customers Say. To have a better idea of WebWatcher’s overall credibility, we’ve taken the liberty of looking at some of the most common complaints from real users on both Trustpilot and Sitejabber . With Trustpilot, the app generally has mixed reviews. While there are some users that had positive experiences with the app – with one customer, in particular, mentioning that it works well on Android phones and provides them with the data they need, most customers didn’t have a good experience with the app. Many customers mentioned that the app is expensive, and you can’t see outgoing Facebook messages that have been sent. They were also unhappy with the fact that the screenshots they received were missing a lot of information. When customers utilized the trial, they had problems canceling and couldn’t get their money back. Customer service also wasn’t excellent, and they weren’t able to get a hold of someone to assist them with their problems. If you plan on getting the app, plenty of customers also highlighted that there’s a lot of difficulty in receiving a refund for your subscription. One customer mentioned that she sent several emails and even made a few phone calls but received no return emails or calls. Another customer said that WebWatcher promised them a refund, and they spoke to someone on live chat, but nobody got in touch with them. Worryingly, a few other customers have also highlighted that the software isn’t discrete and sent notifications to the individual’s phone every time they looked at it. At Sitejabber, the app has dismal reviews. Similar to the reviews on Trustpilot, customers mentioned that they had issues getting a refund and that the app didn’t work as advertised. In particular, one customer noted that the free trial is a gimmick and stated that it’s pretty much impossible to receive a refund. WebWatcher FAQ. Where to Get the WebWatcher Promo Code? There are a couple of different websites that offer a WebWatcher promo code. However, you’d have to be careful where you get the code, as some of these promo codes may not be legitimate. Can WebWatcher Be Detected on Android? Since the WebWatcher app is designed to be a monitoring app that tracks a phone discreetly, it is not an app that’s easily detected. Upon installation, no tray icon or shortcut detects the app on Android. However, some customers have mentioned that the target phone has received notifications from the app, and they were aware that an app was monitoring them. Is WebWatcher Detectable on an iPhone? Similar to Android, WebWatcher is an app designed to track an iPhone secretly. It’s supposedly even harder to track on the iPhone as you’ll have to install the application remotely with iCloud credentials. Like the Android, however, individuals mentioned it didn’t work as the target phone received notifications about being monitored. Does WebWatcher Have a Free Version? Technically, the app doesn’t have a free version and is only available through a 1, 3, or 12-month subscription. However, you can try out a risk- free 7-day trial after you’ve inputted all your details and signed up. How to Remove WebWatcher from an Android Phone? Download software like Spybot Search and Destroy. Wait for them to be installed, and then double-click the installation file. Then click “Allow,” and follow the instructions to install the anti-software program. Open the “Start” menu. Type in “atww” and wait for the search results. Click on the “atww” folder, and pick for “Delete.” Then open the anti-spyware program and there click on “Remove Selected Problems,” and that’s it. How to Cancel WebWatcher? To cancel your subscription, you can do it directly from your account. However, if you’re looking for a refund, the only way you can get one is if the service doesn’t work as it should, and the customer service team isn’t able to rectify the issue. Is it legal to use WebWatcher? Unfortunately, we didn’t find any information about it is legal usage. Taking into consideration this fact, we advise you to consider any other app for monitoring, for instance, mSpy, Spyzie, FlexiSpy, etc. WebWatcher Android Review. WebWatcher isn’t the most intuitive cell phone monitoring program we tested, and there are features other programs manage better. By Nicole Johnston 01 March 2019. Our Verdict. WebWatcher monitors a lot, including all images taken and saved on your child’s phone. It also runs in stealth mode and provides transcripts of chat messages your child has through social media apps. However, it can be difficult to use. You don’t need to root or jailbreak your child’s phone to monitor it with this app. Against. It isn’t the most intuitive program to use. WebWatcher isn’t the most intuitive cell phone monitoring program we tested, and there are features other programs manage better. Still, overall, it is a good tool for tracking your child’s online activity on their smartphone. Also, while other cell phone monitoring programs require you to root or jailbreak your child’s phone to use some features, WebWatcher doesn’t – you just download the app. You can request that WebWatcher run in stealth mode so your child doesn’t know the program is on their phone monitoring their activity. This program shows you transcripts of messages sent between your child and their contacts on popular social media chat apps such as Snapchat, Viber, Tinder and Facebook Messenger. If you add words and phrases to WebWatcher’s alert words list, the program notifies you when your child sends or receives messages that include them. It also alerts you if someone posts on social media about your child or asks for personal information. These are all great ways to cut down on cyberbullying and stalking and to keep online predators from interacting with your child. WebWatcher also has a remote lock feature so you can restrict your child’s access to their phone, with the exception of the dial paid – that way, they can still call you. In particular, we were impressed with the program’s photo activity log. In addition to showing you the photos your child captures with their cell phone camera, it lets you view the images saved to the camera roll. As such, you can also see the pictures your child downloads and the screenshots they snap. You’ll also know if they post an image to social media. However, WebWatcher has a few drawbacks. First, it sends all alerts to you via the parent app or online portal, not by text. This means you need to have your account active and open to see alerts from your own phone. Some situations are serious enough that quick notification is important, and in those cases, it is better to have a program that sends text alerts. Only a handful of cell phone monitoring software actually offer this feature, including Surfie and Mobistealth. WebWatcher also doesn’t let you filter or block inappropriate websites. While a company representative told us the keyword feature somewhat blocks inappropriate content, we were still able to visit and view all content, even with keywords such as “guns” and “pornography” on our alert words list. WebWatcher Overview July 2021. Let me save you some time. If you’re looking for a parental control app that will let you put a filter or time limits on your kid’s mobile devices and computers, then WebWatcher is not for you. Instead, check out my Qustodio review , it will have the features you want. However, if you’re looking for an excellent monitoring app, WebWatcher is a pretty good option . It can show you the phone’s call log, photos taken, search history, and send alerts when it detects “Risky Behavior.” I liked that it has a powerful social media monitoring feature as well, and can show incoming or outgoing messages on some popular apps. However, WebWatcher subscription plans only include a single device, which, as a father of 5 I found a little frustrating. I’ve been on a quest to find the best parental control apps for my 5 kids, ages 5 – 16. I’ve tested and compared over 50 different parental control apps for mobile devices and computers and ranked them based on their strengths and weaknesses. You can use my research to make the best decision for your family. Features 8.0. WebWatcher Records Everything (But No Screenshots on iOS) Once I installed WebWatcher, I let my son know that I can see everything he’s doing on his phone. It takes screenshots of everything on Android (this feature doesn’t work on iOS) and sends them to the parent dashboard for review. The app was also able to access all his SMS messages, photo gallery, browser history, call log, and GPS location . With all this data, I was able to ensure that my son wasn’t looking for drugs, in contact with a sexual predator, taking inappropriate pictures, and more. Social Media Chat Monitoring. When it comes to monitoring the chat logs from top social media networks, WebWatcher performed better than any other app I’ve tested. Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Facebook Messenger, Kik, and Viber – Accesses incoming messages only Snapchat, Tinder – Can only show me the name of who is sending messages YouTube – It’s not compatible with the YouTube app, but will show you all search and viewing data from YouTube.com. No Time Management or Web Filters – But…. Since WebWatcher is a monitoring program, I wasn’t expecting any web filters or time management tools. So I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that there’s a single button on Android devices that will block all of the apps, although making and receiving phone calls is not blocked . I wasn’t able to set a schedule, but it was nice for the times I just wanted my son to get off his phone and do his homework or come to dinner. When they try to open an app they will see a message letting them know that all apps have been blocked. This doesn’t affect the phone app . While there is no filter that blocks the kids from going to certain websites, there is a Word Alert feature that will let you know if they are searching for inappropriate things . WebWatcher has over 150 words, phrases, and slang terms in its library. You can add or remove words as you see fit. This won’t block the page from opening, but it will trigger an alert in the dashboard . The app identifies certain activities or trigger words as “Risky Behavior” and creates an alert that can be viewed in the parent dashboard. Installation 7.7. Before you can install the app, you will need to create an account and get a WebWatcher subscription (I found a great offer on this hidden discount page , check out if it’s still available). WebWatcher guarantees that installation will take less than 5 minutes , and they lived up to that guarantee. While there is no app in the Play Store , WebWatcher will send you a download link after you create your account. When you go to the download page, you’ll see a step-by-step guide (with pictures) for downloading and installing the app to your child’s phone. For WebWatcher to work, you will need to give it permission to access your contacts, photos, and apps. Android users will also have to give it Admin Device rights, which will allow it to take screenshots, prevents the kids from uninstalling it, and lets it track the app usage. Ease of Use 8.3. Once the installation was complete, the program was extremely easy to use . I was able to log in to my dashboard from anywhere and get all the alerts, see the phone’s location, and even sound a 60 second alarm on the phone, which is nice if your child misplaced their phone. The WebWatcher dashboard is easy to navigate around . It’s divided into a few different sections, which makes it easier to go through all the data it collects. The main page shows all the alerts, which you can click on for more details. Support 7.6. I was only able to reach the customer support team after creating an account . I found this a little annoying as I had some questions I wanted answers for before committing to the product. WebWatcher has a 24/7 live chat option . Each time I had a question I received an answer within a few minutes, and I was able to confirm that I was dealing with a real person and not a Chat Help Bot. They even offered to have a technician connect to my phone and check out the issue. The online knowledgebase seemed very limited and mainly dealt with how you can create an exception with your antivirus software before installing WebWatcher on a Mac or PC. It didn’t have questions or answers that were related to actually setting up or managing the app. Is there a free version of WebWatcher? No, WebWatcher is only available by getting a 1, 3, or 12-month subscription. Does WebWatcher offer a free trial? All over its website, WebWatcher claims that the service is risk-free. However, after reading the refund policy I was a bit skeptical. The only way to get a refund is if the service doesn’t work as advertised and the customer service team can’t fix whatever issues you are having. Can I use WebWatcher on multiple devices? While WebWatcher is available for Android, iPhone, Windows, Mac, and Chromebook, each subscription is limited to 1 device. This means that if you’re interested in monitoring multiple devices you will need multiple subscriptions. Does WebWatcher have tools to prevent screen time addiction? No, WebWatcher is purely a monitoring tool, it will not place a time restriction on a device. If you’re looking for a parental control app that can enforce a daily limit or a schedule, check out my Qustodio review. Pricing 8.4. Not only is WebWatcher one of the more expensive parental control apps I tested, but the price is also only for a single device . As a father of five, this was a problem for me. I spoke with the customer service team about the prohibitive cost of purchasing a license for each of the kids and he claimed that they are working on a new price structure. If and when that happens, I will update this post. As of now, there are three options that include all the same features . The only difference is the monthly cost is reduced for longer subscription plans. View Email, IMs, Web History & More.
