New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ 2 Association Annual Financial Report PRESIDENTS REPORT It has been a busy and challenging year and a lot has happened since my first annual report twelve months ago. It seems a long time since the outbreak of Covid-19, the shutdown of racing and the emergency support package Winston Peters and the coalition Government provided to help the TAB which was on the verge of insolvency. The Covid-19 situation has changed the way business is conducted around the world and our industry has had to adapt to this. However, as we have seen many times over the years the Thoroughbred Industry has the ability to bounce back from adversity and we now need to improve outcomes for stakeholders. The coalition Government has delivered on its promise to create a framework that will enable the industry to take the reins and move itself forward as a more cohesive unit. The NZTBA staff and council members have been doing their best to assist with this by providing representation for the breeding industry in many different areas. The NZTBA have contributed a great deal during the year on issues such as education, animal welfare, Healthy Rivers Waikato, Covid 19 protocols, Racing Bill submissions and animal health COMMERCIAL PARTNERS just to name a few.
