1910’s-’21 Reach 41 Catchers Mitt
This seldom seen lefty is a large, soft nice quality model 41. It was made throughout the teens and into the 20’s but the placement of the stampings and the color indicate this is from the teens over the 20’s. It’s missing the buckles on the back. There appears to be a light scratch of B and X on the face but it’s so faint, I can’t make it out. Nice mitt and one that would be awesome with a vintage set of buckles secured to the back. Sporting Goods Dealer magazines of the period indicated that lefty gloves and mitts were made at a rate of one for every 12 righties produced. Early lefty catchers mitts are pretty rare.……….………..…………………………………………………………………………………………………....$125

E.G. Koenig’s Sons Collection
This three-item lot encapsulates the history of early retail and sporting goods in America. E.G. Koenig's Sons was one of Newark, New Jersey's premier retail establishments in the late 19th and 20th century and was the first sporting goods store in Newark. Included are the E.G. Koenig’s Sons full web glove, the hardcover book written by family member Sam Koenig, and an 1887 Peck & Snyder billhead.
The full web glove measures 8.5” from left to right and 9.5” from top to bottom and has the cool white and red E.G. Koenig’s Sons patch. This might be the only one to have ever surfaced in the hobby and perhaps is the only one to remain in existence. The hardcover book was published in 2018 and includes a bunch of very cool pictures throughout, including some neat baseball stuff.
