The lining of the glove is smooth but there is a hole in the thumb slot. On the wrist strap, the Thomas E. Wilson tag is intact and displays well with some wear. The inner lining is cracked and worn - slight hole in one of the finger slots. The Babe Ruth stampings are visible but somewhat worn as is "Home Run Special." There is no visible ink on the glove but some green paint on the lacing on heel. Overall, the glove displays well and would be a fine addition to someone looking to have a classic Babe Ruth Home Run Special model……….$950 c. 1921 Reach 31 Catchers Mitt = Fantastic, large, Reach buckle web and wrist strap catcher’s mitt. Glove is black leather with Reach logo very readable on the glove. Glove does have some minor scuffing on the front and feels great on your hand. Buckles are in great condition and firmly affixed. Versions of the H web evolved, but this glove’s laced approach creates a pocket all its own. It was made throughout the teens and into the 20’s but the placement of the stampings and the color indicate this is from the teens over the 20’s. It’s missing the buckles on the back. There appears to be a light scratch of B and X on the face but it’s so faint, I can’t make it out.
