Our site is at www.canni.addiscombe.net Roaming camera For years some residents of Clyde Road have been complaining about drivers who ignore the one-way system. More recently some residents of Canning Road have been asking that the no entry into Canning Road be enforced. Thanks to the support of our Councillors, Croydon Council will at times unspecified be deploying a mobile camera in Clyde, Canning and Addiscombe Court Roads to photograph the minority of drivers who ignore the clearly visible signs. Possible road changes We reported in our December newsletter that the Council might have been consulting on possible changes to traffic flows in the local side roads. The Council informed us that owing to some strong local opposition they will not be spending money on a consultation and those potential changes will not be going ahead. East Croydon Station – bridge from Cherry Orchard Road Developers, Menta Reddrow, have announced that they are going to start the second phase of their Morello Quarter development on Cherry Orchard Road. This will include linking the bridge over the railway platforms to Cherry Orchard Road. The development will mean 500 new homes of which 118 will be ‘affordable’. It will also include commercial and community space. Free things for children to do over the summer holidays For the last two years in our summer newsletter we have included ideas of things that children can do for free over the school summer holidays. We will be doing the same again this year. Please do you have any good ideas? To keep cost down we only include places and activities that are either within walking distance or easy to reach by public transport for the cost of an adult one-day bus and tram ticket (£4.50). Please let Anne know by 1 June if you have any ideas on [email protected] or 020 8656 6707. 2 .
