Recent tours of the British top metal band are breaking all records, including the current The Book of Souls world tour, which features a unique cymbal set crafted for Nicko by Paiste. Inspired by the Mayan theme of the tour stage set, Paiste and Nicko collaborated to create special silk screens for the cymbals. Elements of the artwork include the sun god Tonatiuh, and the date January 9, 1983 written in Mayan calendar glyphs, the day of Nicko’s very first session with Iron Maiden. The Paiste logos are rendered in Iron Maiden script. Nicko McBrain Few drummers have become as much of an influence as Nicko McBrain. Having joined Iron Maiden in 1983, McBrain quickly established himself as having a unique style that complemented the band’s forward-thinking music. McBrain’s punchy technique and charismatic performances have inspired drummers for decades. The limited edition Paiste cymbals have been carefully chosen with McBrain to suit his particular style and weight of playing. The silk screened finishes on each cymbal features engraved Mayan script relating to significant points in McBrain’s drumming career. The Treasures cymbal box set is a suitable tribute to one of metal's most highly regarded musicians. Signature Reflector Series The Signature Reflector series cymbals featured in the Treasures set have a classic tone that’s ideal for metal drummers. Originally produced in the 1980s, this cymbal series has a traditional bronze alloy that’s crafted at a colder temperature than standard. The result is a smooth, dense sound with slightly dampened high frequencies and plenty of depth. This dark tone has a wide frequency range when struck with different weights of your stick. The bell character is more separated than a traditional alloy cymbal, but no control is lost due to this. This overall sound perfectly matches Iron Maiden’s music, and is suitable for musicians wanting intensity from their cymbal. Limited Edition Treasure Box The Treasures set not only includes an outstanding range of cymbals, but also a bespoke box and extra contents. The wooden case is laser engraved with Mayan themed symbols and features a steel Paiste plaque. The CD and vinyls of Iron Maiden’s album ‘The Book of Souls’ have been signed, as well as McBrain’s signature drumsticks and a signature of authenticity. This collection has been limited to 83 worldwide units, and is a stunning tribute to Nicko McBrain’s musicianship. Throughout its existence, heavy metal has been mired with controversies; critics slighted the music by shunning it off as being riddled with overblown adolescent theatrics, and conservative groups have accused the genre of being provocative due to its evil lyrical content. Inspite of all those adversities, heavy metal has held its stance as one of the most consistent forms of rock music. Metal music, through its efforts has reinstated the “ancient Indo-European spirit of vir”1 through a Romantic, Faustian form of music culture. This has staggered the general concept of mainstream music and has hence, since long, remained controversial. Heavy metal has never been popular with the mainstream masses, primarily due to the nature of the music. Amongst other things, lyrical content of the songs is one thing that is largely frowned upon and often considered to be one of the primary reasons why metal music has never struck a chord with the masses. But such allegations, while partly true, remain biased to a large extent.

Une chronique qui se veut 100% "passionnée" et "nostalgique" et qui nous l'espérons, vous fera réagir par le biais des commentaires ! ...... Bon voyage ! Powerslave : seul album en ma possession, de la fameuse vierge de fer ! Par mon intérêt pour le Hard-Rock, je n'ai jamais eu l'occasion de m'investir énormément dans le registre du Heavy Métal et de me pencher sur le cultissime IRON MAIDEN. C'est en relisant les travaux de "Marpa" de notre équipe Métal Intégral, à propos du groupe britannique, que j'ai eu l'idée de remettre au goût du jour cet album. Année 1984 : Eddie, icône fictive et néanmoins essentielle d'IRON MAIDEN, se proclame pharaon (ou momie !?!) à travers un Powerslave baigné dans une Égypte Antique ... Bruce DICKINSON, Dave MURRAY, Adrian SMITH, Steve HARRIS et Nicko MCBRAIN relatent les méfaits d'Eddie sur un huit titres d'enfer. Par son Heavy Métal, souvent sec et acéré (aux couplets) additionné à des refrains en chœurs, IRON MAIDEN signe un retour triomphal. Aces High, premier temps fort de l'album, donne le ton : rapidité d'exécution, chant aigu, ... un excellent cocktail ayant fait ses preuves ! S'ensuit Two Minutes To Midnight, certainement le titre le plus accessible de l'album et à mon goût l'un des plus réussis.

Membros: Bruce Dickinson (vocais), Dave Murray (guitarra), Adrian Smith (guitarra, vocal de apoio), Steve Harris (baixo, vocal de apoio), Nicko McBrain (bateria). O baterista “NICKO MCBRAIN ” Michael Henry McBrain nasceu dia 5 de junho de 1954 em Hackney, Londres, Inglaterra, Reini Unido. Nicko toca no Iron Maiden, des de 1982, tendo substituído o então baterista Clive Burr. Antes disso, Nicko foi baterista da banda Trust. O Apelido "Nicko" tem origem em sua infância, mais precisamente no seu urso de pelúcia preferido que se chamava "Nicholas, the bear" ("Nicholas, o urso") - que aparentemente era a sua companhia pessoal para todo o lado.

Den Namen dazu fand er im Wachskabinett „Madame Tusseauds“, wo ihn die ‘Iron Maiden’ (Eiserne Jungfrau), ein mittelalterliches Folterinstrument beeindruckte. Mit einigen anderen Bands (z.B. Dieses Album machte die Band in England so populär, daß sie als Vorgruppe von KISS, bei deren Bravo-Kiss Tour die Hauptband an die Wand spielten. 1981 kam das Album „Killers“ und die erste richtige Welt-Tournee. Nach dieser Tour gab es Probleme mit Sänger Paul Di’Anno, über die viel spekuliert wird, so daß er die Band verließ. Sein Nachfolger Bruce DICKINSON machte die Band zur Metal-Band Nr.1, vor allem durch seine gewaltige Stimme, seine unnachahmliche Bühnenpräsenz und seinen Einsatz.
