    Cal Wilson Comedian/Broadcaster/Actor Cal Wilson came across the Tasman in 2003 and has gone on to become one of our most popular comedians, and a perennial favourite on television shows such as Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, Thank God You’re Here, and more recently Have You Been Paying Attention? and Hughesy We Have a Problem. Her stand up shows are as engaging as they are hilarious, often bringing the audience’s stories to life alongside her own. Her comedy career started back in New Zealand in 1990 where she was a founding member of the Court Jesters improv group, and was part of the NZ team that won the World Theatresports title in Los Angeles in 1994. In 1997, she received the inaugural ‘Billy T Award’, New Zealand's most prestigious comedy award recognizing comedians with outstanding potential, and was judged Best Comedian 2000, by Metro Magazine. However, like all great New Zealand talent, Australia has claimed her as its own and Cal has made Melbourne her home for the past 10 years. Her live performances demonstrate her enormous talent as a stand-up comedian. Her festival shows play to sold out houses, and garner rave reviews: In 2001 Cal won the Best Newcomer Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and has performed to every corner of the country since. Since then, Cal has appeared three times at the prestigious, invitation only, Montreal Just For Laughs Festival, and has performed twice in her own shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Cal earned herself a seat in one of Australia’s most sought-after writers’ rooms at the ABC for The Weekly with Charlie Pickering for its first two seasons.

HELLO KITTY After attending Catholic school and developing a healthy disrespect for institutionalised religion, Kitty headed to university where she enjoyed studying a wide range of subjects, none of which had any relation to her current occupation. Once compulsory fee paying was introduced, Kitty flew the tertiary coop, bluffing her way into advertising and working as a copywriter. After her desperate attempts to get fired finally paid off, Kitty began pouring pints, working as a bartender at the Harold Park Hotel, which incidentally happened to run an open mic night. With a backlog of anecdotes and an inexplicable need to vent her deepest, darkest secrets in front of a room full of beer-swilling old men, Kitty spent nights honing her skills, quickly becoming a pub favourite.

A conveyor belt used to stop bilbies digging into control sites was shifted onto a dune bordering the second expansion control site where the previous belt had deteriorated. Reflexiones en torno a una etnografía realizada en tres fiestas de Santiago de Chile Javier Paredes Figueroa1 Investigador Independiente Resumen El presente trabajo explora el grado de eficacia que posee la música dance como manera de lograr una experiencia corporal de “éxtasis” en el contexto de la fiesta electrónica. El escrito asume que el éxtasis se experimenta a través del cuerpo en la práctica del baile, y que éste se vincula con determinadas ideas surgidas en la sociedad moderna contemporánea, para la cual el cuerpo es un álter ego capaz de proveer sensaciones placenteras al individuo. A partir de una etnografía realizada en tres fiestas electrónicas en Santiago de Chile, se comprende la fiesta electrónica como un espacio pensado por la cultura dance para vivir nuevas sensaciones relacionadas con el éxtasis corporal. Hacia el final, el texto concluye que los elementos musicales presentes en la música dance proveen al individuo de energía, sensaciones y seguridad, potenciando así la experiencia de éxtasis. Abstract This paper studies dance music and its role in providing a bodily experience of “ecstasy” within the context of the electronic party. This essay assumes that this kind of ecstasy is experienced through the human body in the context of dance, and that it relates to ideas and concepts that were born in modern contemporary societies. These ideas describe the body as an alter ego capable of providing pleasant sensations to the person, and conceives the electronic party as a “space” in which participants are able to experience new sensations in the context of body ecstasy.
