WILDCATS ENTER BEEHIVE CLASSIC 3-5
Weber State faces another in-state opponent as the Wildcats head to Salt Lake City to take on the University of Utah in the Beehive Classic Saturday afternoon.
The Wildcats are 3-5 on the season and have won their last two games. Weber State won
72-67 at Utah Valley last Wednesday and picked up a 86-46 win over Westcliff last Saturday.

THIRD IN-STATE GAME THIS SEASON
Saturday’s game will be the third of four in-state non-conference games for Weber State this season, all away from home. The Wildcats opened the season with a loss at Utah State, then defeated Utah Valley last week. After Saturday’s game at Utah, WSU will play at BYU on Dec. 21. The Wildcats will take on Southern Utah twice during the Big Sky regular season.

JERRICK HARDING LEADING WILDCATS
Through eight games, the Wildcats have been led by senior guard Jerrick
Harding. The Wichita, Kansas native leads the Big Sky Conference in scoring at 20.1 points per game and ranks sixth in free throw percentage and 10th in
field goal percentage.

Last week he scored a season-high 36 points in the win at Utah Valley, including four 3-pointers. He followed that up with 20 points in just 16 minutes of play in the win over Westcliff. The 36 points at UVU was tied for the secondmost in a game in his career and was the most points ever scored by a Wildcat in a road game against an in-state opponent.
Last Saturday’s game was the 100th career game for Harding at Weber State. He ranks in the WSU career top 10 in several categories. He is currently fourth in WSU history in career scoring with 1,762 career points. He is on pace to become the school’s all-time leading scorer later this season.
Harding is also tied with WSU legend Damian Lillard as the school’s all-time leader in free
throw percentage at 86.7 percent. He ranks fourth in career field goals made, seventh in career
free throws made, eighth in 3-pointers and ninth in steals.
Harding is a two-time All-Big Sky first-team selection and has also earned All-District honors
in each of the last two seasons.

Prior to the season, Harding was named the preseason Big Sky MVP, the first Wildcat to
earn the honor since the league began a preseason all-conference team in 2015.
The Wichita, Kansas native, has been one of the top players in Weber State history in his
first three seasons with the Wildcats. He is a two-time All-Big Sky first-team selection and a two-time first-team All-District selection.

SEVEN DIFFERENT STARTING LINEUPS
Weber State has used seven different starting lineups in the eight games this season. Cody John is the only Wildcat that has started all eight games this season. Kham Davis and Dima
Zdor have each started seven games. Jerrick Harding did not start the first two games but has
started the others. Michal Kozak, KJ Cunningham, Judah Jordan, Israel Barns and Donatas Kupsas have all started at least one game for the Wildcats so far this season.

Weber State entered the 2019-20 season with the 25th best winning percentage in college basketball history. WSU entered the season with a .635 all-time winning percentage in 57 seasons of Division I basketball.

Utah is coached by former Big Sky standout and NBA player Larry Krystkowiak who is in his ninth season with the Utes. Krystkowiak was a standout player at the University of Montana where he was a three-time Big Sky MVP and still ranks as the school’s all-time leading scorer and rebounder.
He played 10 seasons in the NBA, including a stint with the Utah Jazz and then became head coach at Montana for two seasons from 2004-06. He also was head coach with the Milwaukee Bucks before coming to Utah where he has a career record of 162-113.
HISTORY AGAINST UTAH
This will be the 41st all-time meeting between Weber State and the University of Utah but the first
meeting in eight years. The Utes hold a 26-14 all-time series lead over Weber State. This will be the
first ever meeting in a neutral site between the two teams.
The last game played was on Dec. 22, 2011 in Ogden, with the Wildcats winning 80-51. Junior
Damian Lillard led Weber State with 22 points and four 3-pointers, along with five assists. Scott
Bamforth, Kyle Tresnak and James Hajek each added 10 points for the Wildcats.
Randy Rahe is 2-3 in his career against the Utes, also picking up a win in Ogden in 2009.
LOOKING AHEAD
After Saturday’s game, the Wildcats return home to host Bethesda on Tuesday night at the Dee
Events Center. That game will start at 7:30 p.m. and will be the second half of a doubleheader with the Wildcat women’s basketball team hosting Utah Valley at 5:00.
The final non-conference game will be at BYU on Dec. 21. WSU will begin Big Sky play on Dec.
28 at home against Eastern Washington.
