Davies grew up in north Wales. After serving as a subaltern in the Welch Regiment in the immediate post WWII period, Davies was employed as a personnel officer in British industry until immigrating to Canada in the early 1960s. Thereafter he worked in the linen rental and laundry trade in British Columbia. Davies has written numerous articles and booklets, many relating to British Columbia railway history. Custodial History: The David Davies Railway Collection was donated to the Northern BC Archives directly from the collector in 2013. Scope and Content: The David Davies Railway Collection encompasses all facets of railway history in British Columbia, consisting of research material accumulated over the course of more than fifty years, including monographs, periodicals, articles, clippings, photographs, maps and plans, and excerpts.
