Few beef cows forward led by a fine 899kg South Devon x from Mr. S.P. Bache of Mount Hawke at 107p/kg realising £962 to John Cleave. Cattle on offer sold to a decent trade in line with other regional markets. Top price of the day at £800 were a forward pair of Limousin x heifers from Tresco Estate, Isles of Scilly. Steers around 16-17 months old from Mr. F.I. Alford of Newmill saw a pair of Limousins top at £795 with a Blonde d’Aquitaine at £775. Well-finished heavies attracting the leading prices selling to a top of £86.50 for a dozen premium quality 48.5kg lambs from Messrs. I.D. & S.S. Backway of St. Eval bought by Trevarthens of Roskrow. This was closely followed by the best-pick of two pens from Messrs. P.T.R. & P.E. Jones & Son of Crantock selling at £86 to J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station. A run of three pens of handyweight lambs from Messrs. W. & R. Taffinder of Ruan High Lanes led the averages to 184p/kg averaging 182.15p and all bought by Trevarthens.
