ROAD SECTOR SUPPORT PROJECT V: LOT 1: UPGRADING OF – – ISHASHA / KANUNGU ROAD (78.5 KM) FROM GRAVEL TO PAVED (BITUMINOUS) STANDARDS

1. This Invitation for bids follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online) No. AfDB388-06/14 of 05 June 2014, and on the African Development Bank’s internet Website (www.afdb.org).

2. The Government of the Republic of has received loan from the African Development Bank (ADF) in various currencies towards the cost of Road Sector Support Project V. It is intended that part of the proceeds of this loan will be applied to eligible payments under the contract for Upgrading Rukungiri – Kihihi – Ishasha/ Kanungu road (78.5km) from Gravel to Paved (Bituminous) Standard.

3. The Uganda National Roads Authority now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for the construction and completion of upgrading from gravel to Class II bitumen Standard of Rukungiri – Kihihi - Ishasha/Kanungu road (78.5kms) hereinafter called “the Works”). International Competitive Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works.

4. 5. A complete set of Bidding documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the Executing Agency, and upon payment

of a non-refundable fee of UgShs 350,000 (Ugandan Shillings: Three Hundred Fifty Thousand only) or USD 100 (United States Dollars One Hundred, only) or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency. The payments shall be to UNRA’s Cashier or deposit/ telegraphic transfer to the following UNRA’s Bank Account:

6. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works

7. Bids must be delivered to the above office on or before 11:00 on 13 December 2016 accompanied by a security of UGX 8,000,000,000: (Eight Billion Uganda Shillings) Or USD 2,400,000 (Two Million Four Hundred Thousand United States Dollars).

8. Bids must remain valid for One Hundred Twenty Six days (126) days from the deadline for bid submission.

9. Bids shall be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 11:30 am on 13 December 2016 at the address below,
