7 AS INTRODUCED 8 A Resolution congratulating the Oklahoma City Barons 9 on their season and wishing them the best of luck in their playoff games; and directing distribution. 10

14 WHEREAS, during the 2011-2012 hockey season in Oklahoma City,
15 the Oklahoma City Barons Hockey Club has captured the heart and
16 spirit of Oklahoma City during the American Hockey League playoffs;
17 and
18 WHEREAS, the team, coaches, staff and personnel have all worked
19 together to make this second season and playoff run both fun and
20 memorable for their fans and their parent team, the Edmondton
21 Oilers; and
22 WHEREAS, every single player associated with the Oklahoma City
23 Barons Hockey Club has performed an integral service to winning

1 games, winning fans, and playing hard and gritty playoff hockey, as
2 they have climbed to the top of the AHL Western Conference and are
3 four wins away from earning the opportunity to play for the AHL
4 Championship and the Calder Cup; and
5 WHEREAS, as the Oklahoma City Barons face off with the Toronto
6 Marlies for the Western Conference Championship, their fans in
7 Oklahoma City and around the world and in the Great State of
8 Oklahoma send them best wishes on bringing home a championship in
9 only their second year as a team.
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
11 OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 53RD OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
12 THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives congratulates the
13 Oklahoma City Barons on their season and wishes them the best of
14 luck in their Western Conference playoff games.
15 THAT an official copy of this resolution be distributed to Bill
16 Scott, General Manager; Todd Nelson, Head Coach; and Bob Funk, Jr.,
17 Team Owner.
