38th Annual Diocesan Convention Courtesy Resolutions Right Reverend Sir, I would like to present the following Courtesy Resolutions for approval by this Convention: Courtesy Resolution I Archbishops WHEREAS, this Diocese is grateful to God for the leadership ministry of the Most Reverend Benjamin Kwashi, General Secretary of GAFCON and Archbishop of Jos in the Anglican Church of Nigeria, and the Most Reverend Foley Beach, Chairman of GAFCON, the Second Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America, and Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of the South, and WHEREAS, Archbishop Kwashi and Archbishop Beach have been faithful friends to this Diocese these many years; therefore BE IT RESOLVED that this 38th Annual Convention of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth extends to Archbishop Kwashi and his wife Gloria our prayers for God’s abundant blessings and healing in their lives, and to Archbishop Beach and his wife Alison our heartfelt greetings, prayers, and blessings. Courtesy Resolution II Our Bishops WHEREAS, this Diocese is grateful to God for the apostolic ministry of the Right Reverend Ryan S. Reed, this being his inaugural convention as the Fourth Diocesan Bishop; and for the apostolic leadership of the Right Reverend Keith L. Ackerman, Eighth Bishop of Quincy (retired), and current Assisting Bishop of Fort Worth; and for the apostolic legacy of the Right Reverend Jack L. Iker, Third Bishop of Fort Worth (retired); and for the apostolic witness of the Right Reverend William C. Wantland, Fourth Bishop of Eau Claire (retired); therefore BE IT RESOLVED that this 38th Annual Convention of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth expresses our deepest gratitude for their faithful witness to the Gospel and the catholic Faith, and hereby pledges our continued support for their life and ministry; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this 38th Annual Convention expresses to our Bishop’s wives, Kathy, Joann, and Donna, our deepest gratitude, love, and prayers. May the Lord bless and keep them. 38th Annual Diocesan Convention Courtesy Resolutions 1 COURTESY RESOLUTION III Dr. Martha Pope WHEREAS, this Diocese is grateful to God for the Right Reverend Clarence Pope, Second Bishop of Fort Worth, who faithfully served our diocese as Chief Pastor and Shepherd for ten years, and for his wife Martha, and WHEREAS, Martha Pope continues to be much loved by the people of this Diocese; therefore BE IT RESOLVED that this 38th Annual Convention of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth extends greetings, gratitude and our heartfelt expression of love to Dr. Martha Pope. COURTESY RESOLUTION IV Diocesan Staff WHEREAS, this Diocese is grateful to God for the participation and expertise of the staff and volunteers of the Diocesan Center for Ministry during this unprecedented time of pandemic, and WHEREAS, the Diocesan Staff has provided support not only to the Bishop, but also to the congregations within the Diocese; therefore BE IT RESOLVED that this 38th Annual Convention of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth expresses its appreciation to the Diocesan Staff and to all who were involved in making this Convention such a successful and joyous experience. 38th Annual Diocesan Convention Courtesy Resolutions 2 COURTESY RESOLUTION V Diocesan Partnerships WHEREAS, this Diocese is grateful to God for the relationship between the Diocese of Fort Worth and the Anglican Diocese of Northern Malawi, the Anglican Diocese of Mandalay, and La Gran Familia Children’s Home; therefore BE IT RESOLVED that this 38th Annual Convention of The Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth reaffirm our bonds of affection and mutual ministry with the Right Reverend Fanuel Magangani, the Right Reverend David Naing, and their respective Sees; along with Martin Cordova Hernandez, Director of La Gran Familia.
