The Catholic Community of Jeffersonville’s school is officially named Most Sacred Heart of Jesus and was opened back in 1954. It eventually was just referred to as Sacred Heart School and most recently Sacred Heart Catholic. The mission of the school is to provide a Catholic foundation that cultivates disciples of Jesus and fosters academic excellence for all God's children. And although the mission statement may have changed over the years, the purpose behind it was and is the same. We are striving to be the face of Jesus to all those that enter our school, to teach about Jesus along with teaching academic subjects, to be a witness of Jesus’s love for each and every person, and to help everyone follow in Jesus’s footsteps in a world that often loses sight of how we should live our lives and how we should treat others. Whether or not you have children, grandchildren, or other family who attend Sacred Heart Catholic or not, it is still your school as a member of the Catholic Community of Jeffersonville. As the principal of Sacred Heart Catholic, I want to thank you for your support of our school. Your help is a blessing to many of our students, Catholics, and Non-Catholics, who are learning about God and witnessing his love as they grow academically and spiritually. Our faculty and staff are committed to giving our best to help and be here for all those that choose Sacred Heart as a part of their child’s educational journey. The school couldn’t exist without our parishes so once again, thank you for your part in enriching the lives of many children. Due to COVID protocols, I can not invite you into the school right now but know that in the future, after COVID restrictions are lifted, I would be glad to give you a tour. We are having an OPEN HOUSE on Sunday, January 31st from Noon to 2:00 pm for parents trying to decide where to send their child next year. We will be requiring mask-wearing and social distancing, which is why we are limiting the open house to new families only. If you know of anyone who may be interested in coming to Sacred Heart Catholic, please let them know about our open house. They are also welcome to call for information and/or set up a private tour anytime. I would like to invite all parishioners and past alumni to write a note to our students and send it to school. We would read the notes over the intercom during Catholic Schools Week or even after. The note could be one of encouragement, why school is important, your journey at Sacred Heart and how it helped you, the importance of having God in your life, or whatever you would like to share. One of my goals is to connect our school students to our parishioners from both parishes. Together we are the Body of Christ.

Yours faithfully, Cathy Bremmer
