GOLD JACKETS NAMED HONORARY COACHES FOR U.S. ARMY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL IN SAN ANTONIO

CANTON, OHIO – As a part of the U.S. Army-Pro Football Hall of Fame Award for Excellence sponsorship, two Gold Jackets (a term used to refer to living Hall of Famers) – and – will serve as Honorary Coaches at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 6, 2018.

Brooks and Shields will spend three days coaching the best players in the country prior to serving as honorary coaches during the All-American Bowl. During the game, nationally telecast on NBC Sports, Brooks and Shields will be wired with microphones on the sidelines for viewers to hear. Past Honorary Coaches include , KEVIN GREENE, , and .

The Award for Excellence program highlights the achievements of student-athletes across the country. Open to all sophomore, junior and senior-level high school athletes in the United States, finalists were selected based on athletic, academic and civic achievements. Templeton is among an elite group of 25 finalists who have demonstrated excellence in all they do and an understanding of the importance of adaptability and versatility when working as a team.
