Mr. Ben Cantrell, Percussion Instructor, is excited to be back to the UNCG Summer Music Camp. Ben is the Camp Staff percussion instructor at Winston-Salem State University and drumline instructor at Elon University. He is pursuing a DMA at UNCG. Ben is proud to be an educational artist for Mapex/Majestic Percussion and Innovative Percussionist Ms. Anja Arko, Piano Instructor, is a Slovenian born and mallets. pianist pursuing a DMA in Piano Performance at UNCG where she studies with Joseph Di Piazza. She completed Dr. Brian Carter, Voice Instructor, a native of High Point, a Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance and Music NC, is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Music and Education at the University of Ljubljana and continued Voice at Washington State University. Formerly a cellist, her studies in the US at the Schwob School of Music Dr. Carter discovered classical singing in his late twenties in Georgia. Dr. John Salmon, Piano Instructor, has been a faculty member at UNCG since 1989. He has distinguished himself on four continents as both a classical and jazz artist. He has been at the forefront of performing new works by celebrated composers such as Dave Brubeck, Nikolai Kapustin, and Lalo Schifrin. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin, the Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School, the Solistendiplom from the Hochschule fur Musik in Freiburg, Germany, and the Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Arts (philosophy) degrees from Texas Christian University.

Mrs. Donna Sanders, Piano Instructor, received her BM with honors from Greensboro College and was awarded the Luella Pugh Knott Music Award for the outstanding senior music student. She attended UNC-Chapel Hill where she studied with Marvin Blickenstaff. A member of NCMTA since 1975 and SCMTA since 2003, she is www.smcamp.org nationally certified by MTNA as a National Guild Auditions Judge. An independent piano teacher in Myrtle Beach, SC, Mrs. Sanders was named 2016-2017 SCMTA Music Teacher of the Year.

Mr. Michael T. Sanders, Conductor of the Week One Green Beginner Band, is originally from Pineville, NC. Mr. Sanders earned a Bachelor of Music Education from UNCG and is a fifteen year veteran counselor at UNCG Summer Music Camp. He previously taught band at Lexington Middle School (NC), Durham School of the Arts, and Northwest School of the Arts. He currently teaches instrumental music grades 2-5 at Winterfield Elementary School in Charlotte, NC. This is his ninth year at Winterfield Elementary and fifteenth year in public school education. Mr. Michael Thomas is currently the Assistant Director of Bands for Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools.
