FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE HOMESTAND HIGHLIGHTS (Friday, August 29 – Wednesday, September 3, 2014) Matt Carpenter growth poster giveaway and Jason Motte Strike Out Cancer Night highlight the tenth homestand of 2014 ST. LOUIS, MO (August 29, 2014) – The Cardinals are back at Busch for their penultimate homestand of the regular season. The club will play seven games over the next six days, including a split doubleheader on Saturday with the Chicago Cubs and a three-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates. The homestand is highlighted by the Cardinals tumbler and Matt Carpenter growth poster promo giveaways, Jason Motte’s Strike Out Cancer Theme Night, and AT&T’s Welcome Home Weekend salute to military. Friday, August 29, 2014 — Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs (7:15 p.m.) Cardinals Tumbler: 25,000 ticketed-fans, ages 16 and older, receive a Cardinals beverage tumbler courtesy of a The Shane Co. (#CardsPromo) Budweiser Bash Friday: Enjoy music and autographs in Ford Plaza beginning at 5:15 p.m. The first 200 fans to line up at the Budweiser Bash entrance (Gate 5) will be given guaranteed autograph line tickets for former Cardinals outfielder, Bernard Gilkey, who will begin signing at 5:30 p.m. Only fans with autograph tickets will receive an autograph. Autograph ticket distribution begins one hour prior to gates opening. Budweiser Bash Fridays are sponsored by Budweiser Beer. (#BudBash) AT&T Celebrates Local Military with “Welcome Home Weekend”: To honor local military members who recently returned from service, AT&T is hosting the ultimate Cardinals fan experience for 12 service men and women, as well as their families. During the August 29-31 series at Busch Stadium, these active Air Force, Marine and Navy service members will have opportunities to attend batting practice, present the team lineup card, be introduced on the field and throw out the first pitch. Attending Friday are Staff Sergeant Charles Cothran, USAF, and Senior Airman Christopher Haughey, USAF. AT&T will also have a tent at Riverview Corner for Cardinals fans to create their own Cardinals cheer card and digital baseball card. AT&T will also provide camouflage Cardinals baseball hats for fans that share their game day experience using #CheerOnTheCards. – more – Cardinals Care 50/50 Raffle: Fans, ages 18 and older, may play the Cardinals Care 50/50 Raffle by going to any of the six ticket kiosk locations throughout the stadium from the time gates open until the middle of the 7th inning. All proceeds will benefit Cardinals Care and the Players Alumni Association, a non-profit group that strives to preserve the game of baseball while supporting a variety of charities. Fans should use their original May 14th tickets or August 30th 1:15 p.m. game tickets to enter the stadium. Gates will open at 11:15 am for Game 1 of this split doubleheader.
