BY JASON THOMPSON Gulf Breeze News [email protected] More than 200 members of the Gulf Breeze High Class of 2007 spent their Project Graduation at Oops Alley in Pace on May 23. In previous years, colors of cartoon characters were the names of the buses the students rode to the trip on. This year, it was Mexican dances like the Tango, Salsa and Merengue. The evening’s festivites began with a hypnotist, unlike in previous years, where the hypontist ended the Project Grad celebration. The show always brings out a lot of personality from the participants and a lot of laughs from the audience, with Stephen Miller, Jay Schmitz and Gaby Randall drawing the most applause. The group spent most of the night bowling. Other fun festivities includes billiards, arcade games (each graduate was given 10 dollars in quarters) and a ‘casino,’ where grads received a bag of chips to play games like blackjack, Texas Hold Em and Roulette to win various prizes. Grads were also in drawings for some bigger prizes, such as a microwave and a television. It was also a chance for the young at heart types (aka, us chaperones) to act like youngesters again. For example, yours truly bowled a 184, with a blister on his thumb!

Mediacom, On Demand Early Learning launch local high school Coalition of programming Santa Rosa County An exciting advanced digital service offered by Mediacom Communications called On Demand will be offered to Santa Rosa County High Schools for an opportunity to air local information relevant to the Santa Rosa County High Schools. All videos are produced by the ITV high school students. Santa Rosa County High Schools will be the inaugural schools in Mediacom's South Central service area using this new technology for local programming. The schools participating to date are: Gulf Breeze High School, Navarre High School, Milton High School and Pace High School. Mediacom On Demand allows Santa Rosa County customers with a digital converter to instantly watch school principal's message, sports programs, scholarship information and other school news and events with convenience and control. On Demand programming customers can start, stop, rewind, fast-forward and pause programs without a VCR or DVD player. To access the Santa Rosa County High School programs, tune to Channel 001, go to Mediacom Local category, press OK and select Santa Rosa category, then name of the high school and press OK. According to Regional Vice President, David Servies, "This local programming content is not available to satellite dish customers and enhances our partnership commitment with our schools and our community." Local On Demand is free to all customers with a digital converter and free to the schools for its use.
