DAY 1: Singapore ✈ Beijing - Taiyuan (D) Assemble at Singapore Changi Airport for your flight to Beijing - Cosmopolitan Cultural Capital of New China. Upon arrival, take a high speed train to Taiyuan. After dinner, check in hotel. DAY 2: Taiyuan (approx 3.5hrs) - Mt. Wutai (B/L/D) After Breakfast, visit the Coal Museum and take a ride on the mini train through the stimulate mine shaft to experience the whole process of coal mining. Continue to Mt.Wutai, - Buddha’s Summit, also known as Buddha’s Hat. It sits on the top of a hill in the northwest of Taihuai Village. There are 3 main halls, the Buddhist Deities Hall, Sakyamuni Hall and the Buddha Hall. Next visit Xiantong Temple. This temple was built in the Yongping Reign of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Next continue to visit the Tayuan Temple and Wanfo Temple. DAY 3: Mt. Wutai (approx 3hrs) - Hunyuan (approx 1hr) – Datong (B/L/D) Today, visit the Hanging Monastery, built on the cliffs of Mt. Hengshan, one of the five most scared mountains in China. It is the only existing temple which combines Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism together in China. Next stop is the Yungang Grottoes(including electric cart ride). Listed as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2001. Yungang Grottoes is one of the top three grottoes in China, along with Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang and Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang. There are 45 major grottoes in total and 209 secondary caves, with about 1100 niches and 51000 Buddhists statues. The biggest statue is 17 meters high and the smallest one is only 2 centimetres high. DAY 4 : Datong (approx 4hrs) - Taiyuan (approx 1.5hrs) - Pingyao (B/L/D) After Breakfast visit Shanxi Provincial Museum where it exhibits more than 8 million cultural relics of many dynasties. ** (Shanxi Provincial Museum closed on Monday). After that, we will visit the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, the Pingyao Ancient Town (including electric cart ride). You will be brought back to the olden time upon entering the ancient city. The street layout, shops, buildings, temples and officials’ residences have been conserved and maintained in their original states as from the Ming and Qing dynasties. By strolling down the Ming Qing Street, you will feel the bustling “Wall Street of China” some 200 years ago. There are also the Pingyao polished lacquer ware, one of the top 4 famous lacquer ware in China. Thereafter, we will proceed to visit the Rishengchang Exchange House - the first private bank in China, and ascend Pingyao Ancient City Wall - an UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site and view the most well conserved county office of China - Pingyao County Office (Yamen). Enjoying the Shanxi’s Jin Opera performance and DIY paper-cut at your own expense. Tonight, you will be staying in Pingyao Huiguan(hotel) at the Pingyao ancient City. Next, you will appreciate the Jin Shang Folk Song and Dance Performance & DIY paper-cutting at your own expense. Tonight, you will experience the Northwest folk’s lifestyle by staying in the Ancient Inn at the Pingyao Ancient City. DAY 5: Pingyao (approx 3hrs) - Xiangning (B/L/D) After breakfast, transferred to Yunqiushan Scenic Spot. Visit Talpo Ancient Village, has more than 2500 years of history. , are mainly composed of stones. There are many cave-dwelling cave houses, stone cave dwellings, tile-roofed stone houses, they are the living fossils of ancient houses.Watch the Marriage Custom performance, Shadow Puppet show and DIY Steamed Bun. Tonight, you will be staying in Cave dwelling house. DAY 6: Xiangning (approx 1hr) - Hukou (approx 3hrs) - Lingshi (B/L/D) After breakfast, proceed to Hukou Waterfall (Including electric cart ride), the largest waterfall on the Yellow River. It is also the second largest waterfall in China after Huangguoshu Waterfall. Next, proceed to Zhangbi Ancient castle is China's existing relatively intact a military, living, production, religious activities as one of the rare ancient pocket "castle", which focused on the Xia and Shang ancient cultural sites. DAY 7: Lingshi (approx 2hrs) – Fenyang (approx 1.5hrs) - Yuci (B/L/D) After breakfast, visit the Xinghua Village Fen Wine Factory (at own expenses). The wine, which is clear, sweet and scented, is famous for its color, flavor and taste since 1500 years ago. After that visit Baoyuan Old Vinegar Factory. The Shanxi vinegar with its unique historic and culture, has become an important representation of the Jin dynasty vinegar. Next, visit to Chang Family Courtyard, which impresses visitors with its rich history and culture, every part of it is telling a story. And it was once the home of a powerful trading family in Shanxi Province. Chang Family developed a school of its own of Confucian businessman culture. Chang Family Courtyard is a perfect example of Chinese architecture and combines northern and southern styles and integrates the residence and garden. Day 8 : Yuci - Taiyuan - Beijing ✈ Singapore (B) After breakfast, transferred to Taiyuan High Speed Railway Station to take a high speed train to Beijing (2nd class).
