To North Dufferin Baseball League,

Please accept this letter of application to join your league at the Junior Level. Orillia Legion Minor baseball has been strong in tradition for over 50 years in the Orillia community and has in the past competed in NDBL. Baseball registration has been strong in Orillia ever since the infamous “bat flip” and have grown from 3 Rep/Select teams to 8 this season with the interest of two more.

The Orillia Junior Royals would like to officially apply to join your organization at the Junior Level for the 2018 season and onwards. We have 14 players that are committed to play (11 of which are eligible for next year) and our Coaches are dedicated to continue a Junior team for the years to come, with the hope of a Senior team in the near future.

As Director of Rep and Select my approach is to concentrate on Development and ensure that we continue to be competitive in each age level. It was not an easy task to organize a Junior team through the winter and without having a team the previous season. The head coach has diligently worked to get the information out, to engage players interest and to keep them coming out for practice throughout the winter months, all while completing chemotherapy.

Our Coaches are Mike Provensano (head Coach) and Chris Woodman (Assistant Coach) both have all the NCCP courses required by OBA for the Junior Level and are prepared to compete for years to come. Our team is also already registered with OBA and our Team# is 9110

We are a financially sound organization that is prepared to handle any and all expenses that occur in a baseball season. Our uniforms have been pre-ordered to include both home and away Jerseys and the Blue and white are excited for the opportunity to proudly represent the Sunshine City in the North Dufferin Baseball League.

Our main Diamond (Jerry Udell Diamond) is nestled between Lake Couchiching and a Lake Simcoe in beautiful Tudhope Park at 450 Atherley Road. Dimensions; Left field 325’, right field 340’ and Centre field 404’, clay dirt infield and feature a full light up score board.

I apologize for the tardiness of this request but I was under the assumption that we were to play in YSBA, along with our other minor Rep teams. After providing our Junior team information the beginning of February and other inquiries early first week of March I was not informed until March 12 that Orillia was not able to play YSBA due to lack of teams and unwillingness of TBA to travel to Orillia.

I hope that you can accommodate the Orillia Royals at the Junior level this year and many more to come. As previously mentioned, we have 14 young men ready to compete and I would really hate to disappoint them due to my error as they have worked so hard this off season.
