Nasce una collezione di specchi firmati SICIS; preziosi oggetti del desiderio per un quotidiano ordinario che vuole essere straordinario.
Lo specchio è illusione, un dilatatore di spazi, di percezioni, è riflesso apparente di realtà. Attorno allo specchio la letteratura, l’arte e la poesia - che si fanno emozione -, hanno costruito un mondo immaginario e fantastico, soglia irresistibile verso l’inconscio. È ciò che sta oltre la lucente e abbagliante - quanto liquida - superficie argentea nella quale si palesa il nostro volto. Attraverso lo specchio ci s’interroga sulla nostra identità, ci si prepara a indossare la maschera che celerà il nostro ‘sentire’ per le strade e negli incontri.
E dalla stessa materia evanescente e impalpabile, il vetro, con i suoi colori, bagliori e trasparenze, nasce l’omaggio di SICIS al ‘prodigio del doppio’. Le tessere di mosaico, come frammenti di sogno, si compongono in cromie e decori preziosi, segnando il confine tra il quì e l’oltre. SICIS si spinge, tuttavia, anche verso nuove e inedite possibilità espressive.
Ecco che disegna ‘soglie’ - o se preferite, cornici - in nobile cuoio, in carta istoriata, in moderno plexiglass... Così lo specchio si veste di bellezza. Attrae e rapisce.
Un collezione che si compone di nomi arcani: Rajar, Linil, Macam, Zebez... Sonorità che sembrano sortilegi di fiaba. Da destra a sinistra, da sinistra a destra, una lettura che svela la magia del riflesso.
2 2 A collection of mirrors designed by SICIS The wonder of doubles
SICIS has designed a new collection of mirrors, precious objects of desire for an ordinary everyday life that wants to be extraordinary.
A mirror is illusion, an expander of spaces and perceptions, the apparent reflection of reality. Literature, art and poetry – which become emotion – have constructed an imaginary and fantastical world around mirrors, the enticing threshold of the unconscious. It is that which is beyond the bright and dazzling – as well as liquid – silvery surface in which our visage is revealed. Through the mirror we ask questions about our identity, and prepare to put on the mask that will conceal our ‘feeling’ on the street and in our encounters with others.
With the same evanescent and impalpable material, glass, with all its colors, glints, and transparencies, SICIS makes homage to the ‘wonder of doubles’. The mosaic tiles, like fragments of dreams, are composed in exquisite color combinations and decorations, marking the boundary between here and the beyond. But SICIS also moves toward new and unusual expressive possibilities, designing ‘thresholds’ – or if you prefer, frames – in noble leather, in decorative paper, in modern plexiglass, in sumptuous prized wood...Thus the mirror is adorned in beauty. It allures and captivates.
A collection composed of arcane names: Rajar, Linil, Macam, Zebez... with sounds that evoke fairy-tale sorceries. From right to left, from left to right, a reading that reveals the magic of reflections.
