The peloton lets them go, and the gap deepens quickly. At km 42, the break is 1’02” up the road; at km 45: 2’37”; at km 47: 4’21”; at km 54: 5’29”; at km 59: 6’24”; at km 76: 6’55”. Average speed after two hours of racing: 41.050 km/h. Froome, one of the world's leading and most popular cyclists, won the Tour de France in 2013 and has also won the Tour of Oman, the Tour de Romandie, came second in the Vuelta a Espana, and won Bronze in the 2012 Olympic Games Time Trial. Froome was also Velo Magazine International Cyclist of the Year: 2013. He is one of the hot favourites in this year’s Tour de France.
